Ains is not just a soft grandpa because he is old. He is actually a grandpa! Many a year ago Ains adopted a troubled kid named Fianna, who later had a child and is happily a single mother of Effie, her toddler, who seemed to spontaneously appear at some point and it's hard to tell if she adopted or birthed Effie. Neither she nor Ainsley seem to care.

Fianna is gruff, crude, sarcastic, and follows the Ainsley family tradition of not knowing how to talk about feelings and liking manual labor jobs.

(She would die for Ains though and loves him very much.)

Effie currently follows the Ainsley tradition of shovelling as much food in one's mouth as possible to eat and that's about it.
