Winter Palace
@kaaras-adaar - as discussed
The Winter Palace was a magnificent sight. Marble spires, gold inlay, spires, winding staircases, and luxury in every inch of the building. While it was not the grandest palace in Orlais, it was certainly one befitting of an Empress. Not to mention an excellent place to practise the Game - it was full of hallways, rooms, and secret passageways. As a young bard, Josephine would have dreamed of practising here.
Now, with the Inquisition, she felt the weight of Orlais’s eyes on her and she kept up a soft civil smile while her fingers flexed a little around her glass. It was a challenge, of course, and she would rise to it. But it was not just her safety that she was worried about. No, that was the Inquisition, the Empress, her fellow advisors, the members of the Inquisition, and of course, the Inquisitor.
Not that she’d had to remind him too much about the manners of the court. No, Kaaras had listened patiently, asked questions, and studied up before coming in. Perhaps, as a Qunari, he’d learned to make the best impression that he could when every eye stared at him with judgement. It saddened her a little but she gladly admitted that it prepared him well for the Game.
Talking to Yvette was a nice break, however, and she smiled warmly at her little sister. Even when Vyette promptly started embarrassing her in front of Kaaras.
“Yvette. Stop.”
Her cheeks were positively red now.
