Happy new year, everyone! I would've posted something yesterday but I was stuck wondering what I could say for a new year's post....not to worry though, i came up with something. Here's mod eden's top 5 libretto works!
The Die Is Cast - This was the fic that I was planning the most for. During the posting of "A Welcome From Our Differences," I came up with the idea for Libretto's personas. And since then, I've been preparing for their introduction ever since. Idk, it just felt like everything fell into place quite nicely with this, and I had a lot of fun writing it. Luka was amazing as well she's so fun, sure do wish she was my aunt though
Repentance From The Heart - Something that also came to mind during A Welcome From Our Differences, but this time it was while I was writing it. I thought, "Wait, Hana said that she would apologize to Rui, and we never saw that," and took it from there. Also, Brilliant Stone introduction! I'm very glad that I chose Miku to give all the information, because it spiced things up. Not only would it be boring for KAITO to just lore dump he wouldn't even want to do it in the first place LOL.
If Only I Was There - ABSOLUTE CLASSIC! Before this, I didn't really write angst. I was experimenting heavily, and it turned out really well. Absolutely loved how I made it so the reader could understand everyone's perspective, making it more interesting to read than just being "THIS PERSON IS CLEARLY WRONG, AND THIS PERSON IS CLEARLY RIGHT". Not only that but it's more realistic, and I always want that for my writing. Sorry Hana
We Both Reached For The Gun - Possibly THE most experimental Libretto fic this far. If my memory is right, this is the first time I've written a fight scene EVER. And I personally feel like I did it very well. Spent a shit tone of time researching injuries and their symptoms and that lowkey made me kinda sick but it was so worth it. White day kaito is quite the funny guy, and I like writing him and Gakupo bickering. Grown ass men btw.
A Welcome From Our Differences - The very first Libretto event, and oh what a way to start! Though I felt like I could've done better when it came to the VIRTUAL SINGERS, I would still say that this is one of the better works in the series, at least, of 2025. I also feel like I put a lot more of my own experiences into this, making it better.
My least favorite work? Though I'm very proud of myself for writing so much, I have a lot of problems with Libretto's Main Story. The conflict is great, but I hate how the whole thing was written. Not to mention, Rui feels very out of character. Something I wish I did was RE-READ THE WXS MAIN STORY!!! A very similar conflict happened there, so I should've been taking notes. Break up, Start Over is kind of bad as well for being unrealistic. But who knows...maybe I'll come back to these old fics and fix their flaws...
