Unit Description

Libretto is a musical duo whose main goal is to inspire others. Their faces have never been revealed…yet.

The theme of the SEKAI is an old library with various areas. Like a cafe, practice room (for instruments and stuff), etc.

The posts here will mainly be area conversations and 4komas. Except without the art so it's technically just text posts. And perhaps…maybe some short stories will be posted here as well? We will also be posting whenever mod Eden puts out a fanfiction featuring the members.

Late Night/Early Morning Messages (pt. 2)

More haruki. Can't say this is either good or bad thing. Maybe it's just....a thing.

Eden: Hi, Haruki-kun. I hope you’re not busy, because I wanted to ask you something…

haru: hey ;)

haru: I’m on break rn, what’s up?

Eden: Uhm, you’re 18 right? Are you still in school?

 haru: Nah, thank god LOL. I graduated last year though.

haru: Why tho?

 Eden: Oh, nothing bad! I was just curious! I thought you were another high schooler, and I was wondering how you balanced school and working on music. But nvm

haru: If it helps, I still made music when I was in high school. Wasn’t as popular as I am now but I had a small following. I could try and give you some advice if you still want it

haru: btw what school are you at? We might’ve gone to the same place

 

Eden: Yes, I’d love that!

 haru: Understandable lol

haru: Anywayyyyy, it’s just basic time management. Of course, I’ll be a good influence and say that your schoolwork should be your number #1 priority. Focus on that first, then work on your music. Simple!

 Eden: When you put it like that it makes me feel stupid for not realizing that earlier…</3. You’re right though, I need to focus on my studies. It’s the only reason why I’m here right now.

 haru: So you are a foreigner! I wouldn’t have known, you speak Japanese so well. If I’m not crossing a boundary, where are you coming from?

 Eden: No, that’s fine! I’m American. Also I’m not that good, there’s still a lot of things that I need to learn. For a while I couldn’t even type in Japanese, I had to use voice messages when talking to people (said people were just my overseas friends, but I guess that counts).

 haru: Is that so? I’ve wondered what it’s like to live over there sometimes. Is it nice? Boring?

 Eden: Depends on the state and town you’re in, where I come from it’s rather boring. I guess I like it that way, big city life isn’t for me.

 haru: And you came to Tokyo, a big city, because…?

haru: freedom. I’m in apartment and it feels like my bed is deliberately trying to prevent me from escaping it. Not like I want to anyway.

 Eden: Hi again…I’m so sleepy too…zzz…

Eden: Btw, isn’t rosier parasite doing really good? I thought the money from that would cover everything.

 haru: what a way to call me broke

Eden: AH, I’M SORRY :(( I WAS JUST CURIOUS!

haru: Relax, I’m just teasing you! But yes, we’re doing great. The thing about me, however, is that I’m greedy and selfish and my desires are insatiable. Just kidding. Even though we’re going amazing right now, we’re not making enough to pursue music actually full time.

haru: At least I got to switch from working full time at this stupid convenience store to part time! Woo hoo!!

 Eden: Yay!!

 haru: Oh right, before I forget, wanna see a song I came up with recently? Don’t tell Rei-chan you heard it though, he’ll kill me, and then you’ll be hearing no songs from me at all

Eden: It’s amazing, Haruki! I’ve listened to a few of your songs before and you always write some really punchy songs. I’m jealous

Eden: No, not really. I’ve been using youtube tutorials and forum advice for these past two-ish years.

Late Night Texts (Pt 1.)

I meant to make this for a while but I had a bunch of other stuff to make before it. Also, again, responsibilities called and depression shut me down. God forbid I do anything!

Like the title says, these are texts between eden and haruki. Which means these take place directly after let the sleeping dog lie (go read please). A lot of my friends thought Haruki was kinda creepy so this is my attempt at redeeming him in the eyes of the public.... except not really. He's got that "Weird" aura to him but I hope its less than his first appearance.

Btw did I mention i was exhausted? Yeah.

haru: Hey, it’s Haruki from last night! So glad that I got to meet you (and get your number nonetheless). Hope you got home safe and are sleeping well. If you’re not asleep by when I’m sending this, which is like. 22:00, go to bed.

(2 hours later)

haru: Can’t sleep, and my head is racing with thoughts. Suddenly, I remembered how weird I was acting towards you when we first met face to face. I swear I’m not like that normally. The fanboy in me just took over and i couldn’t get it to stop

haru: God, I sounded like such a creep lol “we locked eyes while you were performing one of your songs, I felt so special” WHO SAYS THAT

(30 minutes later)

haru: Maybe I shouldn’t have told you all that, considering we’re only properly met. Sorry.

haru: You’re gonna be in for a surprise when you wake up i guess. All because I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and my thoughts to myself.

haru: welp, i’m going to sleep. ttyl

Eden: Good morning. Sorry, I was reading a book and then fell asleep

Eden: There’s nothing you need to apologize for! If anything I was just a little shocked because this is my first time meeting a fan. Espeically a fan of me, not me and Hana-chan :’D It even feels weird typing that out

haru: Good morning to you too sleeping beauty. Glad that was sorted out tho!

haru: Also, I’m guessing you don’t interact with your fanbase a lot, because a lot of people love Leonis. They think he’s real interesting. I agree with them and all, but I think he’s pretty cute as well

haru: Sorry, probably overstepping again probably. But don’t let that distract you from my message! Leonis (and by extension, you) will always be my fav <33

Eden: Aaaaaaa I’m so sorry! :((( I fell asleep again…

haru: Maybe me calling you sleeping beauty wasn’t far off

aru: Btw, you read? What book were you reading?

Eden: Romeo and Juliet. Had to give up though, I can’t really understand the way he writes

Eden: Also, of course I read. I write all the scripts for Libretto, and you can’t be a good writer without being a reader! At least, that’s what I think

haru: Shakespeare, huh? I’ve heard of him, but I don’t think my english is that good to actually read a full play by him lol. We sure do have someone similar to him though, Chikamatsu Monzaemon. Also, YOU’RE LIBRETTO’S SCRIPTWRITER AS WELL?! You do it all by yourself?! Talk about multi talented!

haru: I guess you’re write about “A good writer is a reader” thing. I’m a writer myself, for rosier parasite’s lyrics. Maybe that means I need to read more, I only read every couple months or so.

Eden: Thank you for all the praise, really. I wish I could recommend you some actual books, but i only really read English novels because my Japanese isn’t perfect. Even then, the only Japanese media I read is manga…I’m sorry :((

haru: Nah, don’t worry about it! I’m fine with that, cause at the end of the day it’s still a book, isn’t it?

Eden: True, true

Eden: One manga I’ve been enjoying lately is Interloper. It’s about a vampire who fell asleep in 1837, and woke up in 2016. Now she has to deal with the whole new world, and some “roommates”. By roommates, I mean people who’ve been residing in her manor for the all the years that she’s been asleep for. It’s a bit on the silly side, but I really like it!

haru: Sounds like fun! I’ll see if they have a couple volumes at my library

Eden: Yay! Tell me what you think :D

haru: Of course! Anyway, sorry to end this conversation when we’re both having so much fun, but I have to go. Gotta get dressed and go to the recording studio for practice. Rei-chan gets all grumpy when we don’t show up on time. He gets even more grumpy when we're on our phones as well

Eden: That reminds me of something, who would you say is rosier parasite’s leader?

haru: me lol.

haru: Rei-chan is our frontman, and he does a good job at it. But I’m the writing our songs and lyrics, and picking out venues, all that stuff. It feels like he forgets that I’m the one writing the show at times….

Eden: Oh dear…

At last, this little event comes to an end! I had a lot of fun writing this, as expected. Something I wish i did more was mix up the interactions more, but I'll save that for another time. Possibly though, don't get your hopes up.

Empty SEKAI Luka: Can’t believe it’s already time to go. I was starting to really like it here.

Len: Of course!

Len: No.

MEIKO: I didn’t even get to talk to their MEIKO, she just ignored me.

KAITO:Now I can’t say this for sure, but you’re most likely not missing anything. The other version of me wasn’t the most pleasant to talk to.

Rin: That doubleganger insulted my way of talking! How could she!

Miku: Weird, Miku was pretty chill. Albeit a bit awkward.

Luka: Same with the other Luka.

Gakupo: You’re all lucky! Me and (H)IBA didn’t even have any alternate version of us!

Oh dear oh dear. I have never written nightcord kaito before and I havent really read any stories with him yet so this is me taking a shot in the dark basically. I mean, this is my first time writing the rest of the nightcord sekailoids as well, but i think that kaito is the hardest to get right out of them. I dunno! Hope you enjoy my attempt and please dont rip my head clean off thanks guys

KAITO: With how you and the others act, I’m curious about how the owner of your SEKAI is.

Empty SEKAI KAITO: That girl’s uncertain about who she wants to be. She’s been lying to herself, and letting others lie to her for years.

Empty SEKAI KAITO: But, she’s starting to make some actual improvement, now that she’s not being babied incessantly.

KAITO: What do you mean by “coddle” exactly?

Empty SEKAI KAITO: The others sugarcoat their words to the point where the message gets lost. Or, they just sit around doing nothing, thinking that it will all get better with time.

KAITO: Hm…

KAITO: I suppose I can see where you’re coming from, but there’s a time and place for all solutions.

Miku: Because we’re both Mikus, do you also have memories from before you came to SEKAI?

Empty SEKAI Miku: No, I’ve always been in SEKAI.

Miku: Really? Huh, that’s interesting.

Empty SEKAI Miku: Were you not?

Miku: *Shakes head* Before I came to SEKAI, I was living in another world that was nothing like this!

Miku: Though, I remember how I even got here though. What was it, an MP3 file?

Empty SEKAI Miku: *Nod* I see.

Miku: Hey, do you want to play chess with me?

Empty SEKAI Miku: I've never played before.

Miku: Well, I can teach you! Chess is pretty easy to learn.

Miku: All you have to do is capture the other person's king piece. Also, every chess piece moves differently. Like the king can only move one square in one direction, while the queen can move in any direction as long as it doesn't cross one of its pieces. The rook can only move forward, backward, or side to side, the bishop can only move diagonally, the knight can only make L movements, and pawns can only move forward and capture diagonally.

Miku: Like I said, chess is pretty easy to learn, but there are a lot of different and advanced techniques and skills, so it's hard to master.

Empty SEKAI Miku: [Like cat's cradle. In a way.]

Empty SEKAI Miku: Okay.

Empty SEKAI Miku: Do you know any of those advanced techniques?

Miku: [If I say no I'm going to look stupid. But if I say yes then I'd be lying and would look…stupid as well.]

Miku: …

Empty SEKAI Miku: …

Miku: …Kinda!

Empty SEKAI Miku: This SEKAI feels warm.

Miku: Well, what does your SEKAI feel like?

Empty SEKAI Miku: Cold.

Empty SEKAI Miku: It's very barren, and there's not much to do. Not to mention that it’s very easy to get lost, and it’s overall, very cold. But Mizuki, a friend of the SEKAI owner, Mafuyu, taught me how to play cat's cradle so I don't get bored. They, Mafuyu, and other members of their group always come by to visit as well, but still.

Empty SEKAI Miku: However, it's not the same here. There's plenty of books to read, games to play, and food to eat. Mizuki has to bring us snacks because there's nothing there.

Empty SEKAI Miku: This warmth…I like it.

Miku: *Surprise, but turns to a warm (haha) smile*

SEKAI Scramble: April Fool's 2026 (Prologue)

my greatest april fool's joke is not posting anything on the actual day. What makes it greater is that im posting it in parts because I couldn't even finish it today.

Ive been teasing the idea of this for a while in dms with my friends, so I'll have a lot of fun writing this for sure! I hope you all will have fun reading it as well.

Rin: Len, were you aware that cheese is actually a mineral? Its source is not cows, but caves. It is mined, not made.

Len: REALLY?! SO, WE COULD FIND A CHEESE CAVE?!

Rin: Of course not. I misled you.

Len: You always lie to me!

 Rin: *Small chuckles into gut laughter*

 Miku: If I told you that gullible was written on the ceiling then you’d look up.

 (H)IBA: *Actually looks up* I don’t see it.

 Len: Guess I’m not the only one who’s stup-

 KAITO: Be nice.

Len: I’m just telling it like it is! Jesus Christ, you’re so soft!

 Luka: I pointed out that you had the wrong posture when playing the drums and you got all pissy with me.

Len: CAUSE YOU WERE BEING A MEANIE ABOUT IT!

Luka: You can dish out teasing but you sure can’t take it, I’ll tell you that.

MEIKO: Luka, I think you have better things to do than argue with a 14-year-old.

Luka: I mean, not like I have many options.

KAITO: *Very deep sigh*

Gakupo: Wow, I never knew you could change outfits so fast! And…walk that fast.

Gakupo: And you seem way less mad than you did when I first saw you over at the music sector! By the way, can I touch you now?

 KAITO: …what?

Gakupo: You don’t remember? It just happened today!

Rin: Well, it is true that your memory starts to deteriorate with age…

KAITO: I am not that old, and even then, I would say that my memory hasn’t deteriorated that badly. Gakupo, when did I talk to you at the music sector?

Gakupo: …Like, 10 minutes ago I think?

KAITO: For the last 10 minutes I’ve been here. Just what is going on here?

(H)IBA: Eek!

All:?

(H)IBA: *Cowering in fear* W-What if it’s a ghost?! Or some sort of evil, vengeful spirit?!

Miku: Or, it could be a doppelganger!

(H)IBA: *Gasp*

Miku: No matter what it is, it’s very weird. There’s someone in SEKAI that looks exactly like KAITO, but isn’t him. What could he possibly want?

KAITO: Do you think that it’s just me, or are there other versions of running around SEKAI?

Miku: *Shakes head* Eh, that would be pushing it.

????: Hello?

Empty SEKAI Miku: ?

Miku: …

Miku: What the fuck.

 [Some time later, the empty sekai vocaloids and the library sekai vocaloids all group together in the cafe.]

Empty SEKAI Miku: Thank you for the tea and cookies.

KAITO: Ah, it’s no problem, really!

KAITO: [Considering how pale and fragile-looking they are, I’m sure they needed it.]

MEIKO: So, you’re saying that you’re all from another SEKAI?

Empty SEKAI Luka: That’s exactly right. For me, I was looking for a way to kill time, when suddenly, I got wrapped up in this bright white light…

Empty SEKAI Luka: Then, I was sent here.

Miku: I see, I see…Guess you guys weren’t doing anything out of the ordinary then.

Empty SEKAI Len: Um…would any of you know how to get us back?

Every Library SEKAI vocaloid: *Shakes their head*

Len: But hey, until we do, how about we just chill out a bit?

(H)IBA: Yeah, yeah! I mean, you guys are from a whole different world! I wanna learn all about it!

Empty SEKAI Rin: …

Empty SEKAI KAITO: Do what you want, but don’t drag me into it unless you find a way to send me back.

Fanfiction: Sir Kamui's Hectic White Day

Summary: The two years that Gakupo and KAITO spent separated seemed to really take a toll on Gakupo. So, with White Day rolling around, he wants to make up for all that lost time! Even if it's not really necessary...

Notes: Woah, thats one really late white day gift! Sorry for the long wait, I've been so mentally ill that I could barely even write for fun. I won't get into it too much, but I've been having a lot of problems irl. Thought I knew someone but turns out that what I knew barely scratched the surface. Very exhausting, and very terrible for my poor heart. Even then its still being sewn up, but I certainly feel better than I did on my last post.

I think i can say that Libretto is going off hiatus now. Right now my mental state is pretty good, so I can get back into writing. Not sure when the next event will start, but hopefully soon. Thank you for your patience.

Before Kamui Gakupo came to SEKAI, he had been separated from his husband, KAITO, for quite some time. If he had to guess, it would be about 2 years. That's 2 years of missed time! But thankfully, they got reunited. However, that missed time haunted Gakupo like a ghost. Sometimes he’ll think of an amazing idea for a date, and curse himself for not coming up with it sooner.

Gakupo yawned and slowly dusted off the bookshelves. He woke up from a nap not too long ago and remembered that KAITO asked him to do some dusting before he fell asleep. Not wanting to anger his husband (or feel like a good-for-nothing bum), he got straight to it. Took him a while to get off the couch though, why did they have to be so comfortable?! It’s like they wanted him to lie around all day!

As he rubbed his eyes, he felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned around, it was KAITO, holding a… calendar?

“You’re dusting the bookshelves! Thank you for doing your part in helping out around the SEKAI. Apparently, that’s a difficult task for some people.” KAITO faked a cough.

 

Gakupo shook his head and smiled, “It’s no problem, KAI! Anything for you.”

 “By the way, take a look at this!” KAITO showed off the calendar. “Eden visited, and he gave this to me. It’s a tropical resort-themed, and every month is a different activity.”

“Whoa…dope!” Gakupo watched as KAITO flipped through the calendar. One activity stood out to him in particular, nature hikes. Before he came to SEKAI, Gakupo always loved walking. He used to go on morning walks through his neighborhood before clocking in for work practically every day (if the weather wasn’t uniquely bad). He went hiking…once, and really enjoyed it!

 “I’d bet KAITO would like it too…damn! Another missed opportunity…” Gakupo cursed himself.

 “…Hey, honey, is everything alright?”

“Did I do something?”

“No, but you’ve been standing there with that serious expression on your face for 5 minutes now…”

“Oh”

“It’s nothing serious! I was just thinking of how we should’ve gone on a hike before we came here!” Gakupo insisted, before turning away and letting out a sigh. This caused KAITO to sigh as well, knowing exactly what was wrong.

“There’s no need to worry about the time we missed, we’re making up for it right now, just by being together.” KAITO grabbed Gakupo’s hands and smiled softly.

 “I know, I know. But God, we could’ve-”

“Leave it alone.”

“But-”

“For the love of God, leave it alone. Please.”

“If you say so.”

“Now, would you like to hang up the calendar with me?” KAITO offered."

“Obviously!” Gakupo gave one of his signature, wide smiles.

The two lovers then went to the cafe to put up the calendar. KAITO had to remind Gakupo that it was the last week of February, which reminded Gakupo of something. Eden and Hana mentioned this holiday that occurred on March 14th, which was basically just Valentine’s Day 2. Maybe it was more than that, not like he could remember it anyway, it was a pretty brief convo.

As the days went by, this holiday kept popping up in his head, along with all those years that he and KAITO missed. He cherished all the time they had together, but he wanted to do something special. More than a walk around the library, something great and worthy of KAITO! Then, the week before March 14th, Gakupo asked Eden and Hana to come to SEKAI, and he told them about all his ideas! They were a pair of creative kids, so they’ll know what to do!

“That’s so romantic, Gakupo! We can absolutely help you out.” Eden said. “What did you have in mind?”

Crap! He didn’t think that far!

“Um….ummmmmmmmmm…” Gakupo scratched the back of his head and racked his brain for ideas. “…Not too sure on that one. But I do like the thought of us going on a hike. You’d have to ask KAITO what he wants.”

“If we asked him then he’d know automatically. I’m guessing whatever you want would be better as a surprise, right” Hana asked.

“It would be better as a surprise…you’re onto something Hana Banana!” Gakupo nodded and stroked his chin, before snapping his fingers. “Eureka! I got it! Me and KAI could like, pop up on your phones, and you could take a walk! It wouldn’t be the same as us…actually walking, but it would be nice!”

 “…Hana Banana?”

“You don’t like my nickname?”

“Whatever, that’s not the point. Your idea sounds nice.”

 “But, I do have one suggestion,” Hana smirked. “You have to let me dress you up.”

 “Sure” Gakupo gave a thumbs up.

And so, their plans were finalized. Gakupo and KAITO would pop up on Eden’s phone while he takes a walk, and Hana would dress Gakupo up for the occasion. She was thrilled by this of course, because she always thought that Gakupo had a lot of untapped potential when it came to fashion. With his long hair and his overall build, he’d be the perfect frontman for a visual kei band! The only problem was clothes, the places where she shops don’t really make clothes that fit a 6’6 muscular man. Oh well, she could manage!

March 14th rolled around, and Gakupo snuck off to some far-off corner of SEKAI to try on his new outfit. Turns out, when Hana told herself that “she’d manage”, she meant asking Eden to ask Mina to make something. That made for an interesting conversation.

“Isn’t this way too big for you to wear? Unless you had a huge growth spurt out of nowhere and started hitting the gym.” Mina wondered. “What do you even need this for?”

“Ah…Erm…” Eden answered in return, messing with his hair. Luckily, he didn’t even need to dance around the question, because Mina was more than willing to step out of her comfort zone. Hooray?

Back to the present day though, Gakupo, with an already beaten face, was changing into this new outfit in some tiny storage closet, while Eden waited outside.

“Are you almost done yet?” Eden asked, before quickly apologizing. “U-Uhm, sorry, take your time.”

“Nah nah, I’m almost done! At least, I think I am. Kinda hard to tell if I’m doing this right.” Gakupo said.

After a few more seconds, the sound of rustling clothes stopped, and the door creaked open. Gakupo stepped out, but his glamorous introduction was interrupted by his slamming his head against the doorframe. After rubbing his forehead, he finally made his way out, and while his original SEKAI outfit was stylish, this took the cake! His hair, which was once in a ponytail was let down and back combed, looking like Hana added some more layers to it. The makeup Hana put on him made his face pale, with some sharp eyeliner. For his clothes, it was primarily black, with plenty of chains all over them.

 “Wow…” Eden stared in wonder.

“How do I look?” Gakupo tilted his head. Eden pulled out his phone and took a quick picture, then showed it to him. “Oh, hell yeah! Heh, I look like one of those guys from that KISS band!”

“I can tell Hana-chan had a lot of fun dolling you up.” Eden giggled.

“Yup! She kept smirking the entire time…she sorta scared me.” Gakupo remarked.

The two men then headed over to KAITO and Hana, who were having a practice session over in the music sector. They took a quick break, and KAITO sipped on a glass of water. When he saw Gakupo, he nearly spit it out.

“O-Oh my…” KAITO’s face turned as red as a tomato.

“Heya!” Gakupo waved. Despite this glow-up, he was still the same dude. “I was thinking that we could do something special. For white day, you know?”

“Well, what do you have in mind?” KAITO asked.

Gakupo extended his hand out, “How about you and I go for a nice walk? Just you and me.”

“Pfft, yeah right.”

“…Okay so it technically wouldn’t be just us but please. It’ll be so fun.”

“Sure, I’m interested to see what you have in store for me.”

“YAHOO!”

Eden and Hana promptly left SEKAI after this, and the two lovers popped up on Eden’s phone not long after.

 “Are you two ready?” Eden smiled.

“I was born ready!” Gakupo smirked confidently.

 “I’m a bit confused but I suppose I’m ready.” KAITO shrugged.

 

Then, Eden left his house and started taking a walk through Shibuya. KAITO was reasonably confused, because they weren’t even walking. However, after some begging convincing from Gakupo, he eventually went along with it. And he was glad that he did, because he got to see sights that he started to miss.

 

As a celebrity, KAITO’s been to plenty of cities before. Although he’d always thought they were very breathtaking, he spent so much time in them that they all started blending together. But now that he’s been in SEKAI for so long, he was finally reminded about how beautiful the city could be. Even better, he got to experience it with his husband, whom he missed so much.

Once Eden made his way back to his house, the two lovers waved goodbye and went back to SEKAI.

“So, what did ya think? Great, wasn’t it?!” Gakupo looked at KAITO with anticipation. There was a long stretch of silence, before KAITO suddenly pulled Gakupo closer and kissed him on the lips. KAITO’s lips were always soft, and were the closest feeling to heaven that Gakupo could possibly get. By the end of it, some of the black lipstick that Hana put on him had transferred over to KAITO’s lips.

“It wasn’t really a walk, but I loved it all the same. Can’t wait to one-up you next year, my love!”
