Once more a strange hand has found Selkie's, entwined as the branches of a tree forced to grow to escape its cage. Curiosity peaks, and the kitsune turns to find the offender, only to see, thankfully, someone who is neither Lorenz nor any of the other boys she didn't know.

"Oh! Hi there, I'm Selkie! I think I've seen you hanging around with Edie, right? Are you two friends? If so, then you're as good as my friend too!"

Without warning, yet another strange man was making an advance on someone he didn’t know. Specifically towards Selkie, which was really the only person she knew of getting these unwelcome advances. A mental note - Make more friends, Selkie.

That said, there was still the matter of this strange man, latching onto her hand without so much as a word. Although, now that she thought about it…

“Laslow, what are you doing? What do you think my dad would do if he caught you trying to flirt with me?”

He certainly looked like Laslow, though a few years younger at least. Perhaps this was where he went, when all was said and done?

Upon the older knight grabbing her hand with a firm shake, Selkie’s surprise was overshadowed as she couldn’t help but remember all her training that led up to this moment.

“A handshake tells you everything about someone’s character, Selkie. Likewise, your handshake will tell someone all about you. You have to be firm and set a good first image.”

First image. Selkie could do this. Feet shoulder width apart, elbows wide.

And.... shake.

“Good afternoon, miss Shamir!”

Nailed it.

It was going to take some getting used to, calling him by that name. Still, he wasn’t nearly the same person, just as the Selkie he knew must have been completely different as well. 

“Thanks for taking the time to talk with me - and for not getting mad when I didn’t recognize you!”
