Actually the pattern I found and picked as something I thought would be a more challenging project turns out to be dumb-friendly too. Very nice, repeatable pattern, easy to drop at whatever point because your water just boiled. Easy to pick and carry on, at least as long as I keep track which row I'm making at the moment.
I started this on Thursday evening:
The pattern I'm using is free and it's available here:

Make it idiot proof and the world will invent a better idiot -- Human engineering axiom.
It was a Human who came up with Murphy's Law, and further Humans who came up with all the associated corollaries. Humans investigated them all, invented science to prove them, and then invented science that provided vital analysis into the reasons why it was so.
All devices made by Humans are over-engineered to cope with stresses both outside and inside. They print instructional plaques and then make certain that the device cannot possibly be used in any other way. They have a language of use, of codifying function into design, that other species have to work at to even parallel.

Idiot Proof
February 2, 2004 - Still Alive Raced from 2006-2009 Thoroughbred Stallion - United States
I could not find information on why Idiot Proof was named so.
Idiot Proof raced only once as a two year old in 2006, but he made it count with a win in a Maiden Special Weight at Hollywood Park in June. He wouldn't be seen on the track again until almost a whole year later in July of 2007, where he finished second in the Sunshine Millions Dash Stakes in his three year old debut. He won an Allowance Optional Claiming in his next start and followed that with a 5th place finish in the San Pedro Stakes. He won an Allowance and was off for a little over a month before returning and winning his first stakes and graded stakes. He won the G3 Jersey Shore Breeders' Cup Stakes and set the track record for the distance at Momouth in 1:07.47 and earned a career best 113 Beyer Speed Rating.
After that race he finished third in the Real Good Deal Stakes and then went on to win his first G1 and break another track record, winning the Ancient Title Stakes with a track record for six furlongs in 1:07.57 at Oak Tree. In his last start for 2007, he entered into the Breeders' Cup Sprint. He took the lead entering the home stretch but was overtaken by Midnight Lute, but he managed to hold on to finish second.
In 2008 he ran seven times, but the 2007 Ancient Title Stakes was his final win. He would finish second in the Phoenix Gold Cup Handicap, Dubai Golden Shaheen and Green Flash Handicap. He finished third in the El Conejo Handicap. He attempted the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint in 2008, but suffered the worst defeat of his career, finishing 13th out of 14 horses. His last race in 2008 was a seventh in the Fall Highweight Handicap in November, and then he would start only once more - almost a whole year later, in the Icecapade Stakes in September of 2009 where he finished fourth.
Idiot Proof was announced retired in October, going to stand his first few years at stud at Ballena Vista Farm for $1,500. His first winner was a filly named On Autopilot (Wingless Flight - by Half Term). Since then other notable foals include Richard's Boy (Marissa's Joy, by Cee's Tizzy) who has won multiple stakes and placed in several graded stakes. Frisco Fog (Point Break, by Summing) who finished third in the Oak Tree Distaff Stakes. In 2014 Idiot Proof moved to stand stud at Victory Rose Thoroughbreds, where he currently stands for $3,000.
