“You do realize I’m like.  The absolute last person who should be doing this, right?”

Yes, it was technically his own fault.  He didn’t have to stop by after school knowing full well Eddie was home sick.  Could have just gone home and called him on the phone like a normal person.  But no, he’d decided to stop in to see exactly what level of ‘sick’ Eddie was, and had now managed to get roped into actually Getting Involved.  Which currently meant trying to reheat a can of chicken soup while Eddie sat at the table, thoroughly judging him.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if I burned the whole house down by accident, and then your mom would DEFINITELY have a reason to hate me.”

*She leaves a cup of coffee for the doctor as well as a note just telling her who the coffee was from.*

When Angela sits at her desk she almost doesn’t notice the coffee at first.  It was the smell that finally caught her attention, drawing her eyes to the cup and the note.  With a little smile she sipped the coffee and tapped out a quick little text.

It’s all impulse.  He’s in a good mood and it’s the right time and place and she looks...unbelievably frustrated and bored, and the guy trying to chat her up clearly can’t take the hint that she’s not interested.  So he crosses over to her from his spot at a table, leans in and kisses her on the cheek, an arm slung over her shoulders, grinning brightly like they’re close friends at least, Involved at most.

“Hey, there you are.  Guy disappears to take a leak and suddenly he comes back to having to work through the whole pitcher of margaritas all by himself.  Brat.”

“Could I sit here? All the other tables are full.”

The brunette looked up from her notebook as someone approached her table. Her eyes found the other teen’s apologetic smile as she asked if she could sit at the same table as her. Keiko’s cheeks warmed up with slight embarrassment. She suddenly felt selfish for having taken up a table all to herself for so long on a busy day.

But she smiled at the dark haired girl and nodded as she reached out to pull her coffee cup, sandwich plate, and text book back toward her to free up space on the table. 

“Sorry for the mess,” she replied with an embarrassed laugh. “Just trying to cram in some studying. I’m so not ready for exams.”
