New years Day- Mia and Tom.
Mia walked into the quiet beachside house and was surprised at the state of the place. Ellie had gone to Pauls in the morning so they could hang out and now Mia could see why. She stepped over empty beer bottles and pizza boxes and then walked to her father's bedroom apprehensively. This was not like Tom. He was usually so tidy and now it was about 1pm and he was still in bed. She knocked lightly on his door and looked around at the bathroom, which was covered in towels and clothes, What was with him lately?
“ Dad?” She called and waited. Nothing. Mia cracked the door open a tiny bit and was hit by a smell of alcohol. “ Dad, its the afternoon, time to get up.” She called out and then closed the door. She walked into the kitchen and put on the kettle and started to make breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and toast should get him moving. As she started plating up, she heard a noise and the creak of the bedroom door, then two sets of footsteps and then the front door closing, it took a while before she realized he hadn't been alone.
