@poeticphoenix asked: “ didn’t we have some fun , though ? ” // @ Reno or Blue :p (because tumblr ate it but discord didn't)
blue is uncertain, staring at genesis, while also not edging away from him either. it's not often that blue spends any amount of time among humans, and the experience is entirely different from life in the digital world.
still, the brief time he'd spent with genesis so far had been interesting, though not something blue would exactly call thrilling. it's piqued his interest enough so that blue wouldn't exactly be opposed to doing this again.
"yeah," he says, adopting a friendly grin. humans certainly are an interesting bunch. "i want to see more of what your world has to offer. there's a lot more to do than i anticipated."
@poeticphoenix liked for an Aether Starter [Muse Testing!]
"I'm starting to think we took a wrong turn somewhere, Paimon... Paimon?" And just like that, his little self-appointed guide in Teyvat was gone! Aether looked over both of his shoulders and even above his head for good measure. After all, a little flying... somebody the likes of Paimon could be anywhere right now, and he really had no better inkling of where.
Ah, but wait, wasn't that a familiar figure over there?
"Childe?" He calls as he approaches the redhead from the back. But the closer he gets, the more something feels off. No, this man is not Childe. A little shorter, maybe. And the style is... well, kind of different.
"Ah, sorry. I think I mistook you for someone else." He immediately apologizes the moment he realizes the mistake, a sheepish smile on his face. "Um... you wouldn't happen to have seen a little girl flying around by any chance...?"
@poeticphoenix
"Soo shouldn't you be doing important SOLDIER stuff? Why would they send you to keep an eye on me?" It's...different, Aerith will admit. She's used to Reno, Rude, Tseng, but Genesis is new. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it does confuse her a little. "Are they shoving Turk duty onto First classes now? They must be reaaaal understaffed." She giggles, balancing on one of the church pews and walking back and forth.
It's not Genesis' fault. Really, it's not. But it does strike her as a weird decision to make. So she stops, crossing her arms and tilting her head as she peers down at him. "As long as you don't step on my flowers, then we'll be fine."
@poeticphoenix sent: Reminds me of you~ (if I'm not too late ofc!)
[ send in " reminds me of you " for my muse to recount things they see, smell, hear, feel and taste that remind them of your muse . accepting ]
The orange and golden glow from the fire, both warm and dangerous; the way a moth dances around an open flame, unaware it can so easily die from that obsession; the sound of cheerful applause and standing ovations at a movie festival; the soft texture of feathers followed by the hard, bony structure of where they are joined to the back of a (fallen) angel; whispers in an old, exotic language evoking all your fears and desires; tasting blood in a shared kiss that seals a pact and binds souls together; coming undone surrounded by (cursed) divinity and knowing no other lover will ever satisfy you again.
More Than Mages | Fancy Mel & Genesis
@poeticphoenix said: Dealer’s choice! Happy birthday!
Thank you so much for the well wishes. I had to toss another muse with a world hopping verse at you. Fancy Mel, from Threads of Fate, is a delight to write and I seldom get to. You can find more about her here.
With the Dewprism taken care of and Valen's... children largely settled, Mel finally felt like she could leave her post near Carona. For a time, she wandered into the East Heaven Kingdom -- in no small part because the Princesses very much needed a guiding hand. But time meant nothing to her, and wouldn't for many thousand years more., if indeed her age ever caught up with her.
Once things were stable, she grew restless. She traveled the world and found to her dismay that she was not, in fact, entranced by any of it. No, she wanted... she needed something new.
There was a [relic] no one had ever found, her own Star Way -- exactly as it sounded, a way to travel the stars. It was disguised as a purple gem, perhaps mistaken for mere amethyst, sitting on her chest, seemingly secured by her pink ribbon alone.
It was this deceptively mundane gem, her Star Way, that she poured power into. She chose a dot in the sky where she felt life and sent herself to it.
She woke with a headache, magical strength intact but her body rightfully exhausted. As she came around she realized she was kneeling in a green, glowing fountain that thrummed with some sort of primal power.
And it was very happy to see her.
have you been carrying me this whole time? // @ Sephiroth hehehe
☄ Sephiroth gives his friend a sideways glance, making sure to shift Genesis in his arms before giving a firm SMACK on the ass.
"Since you foolishly decided to challenge me in the training room again? Yes."
HE REMEMBERS AS IF IT was yesterday, the day of the first class desertion, the anger it sparked in his father, the terror it brought to rufus. years might've passed but the child in him never forgot the explosive anger of his father, the screaming, the spit hitting his face; the wide eyes that would haunt him throughout the day, would keep him quiet and on his best behaviour — he was a child again that day. accused of being behind genesis and the mass desertion of their precious SOLDIERs, the mastermind behind it all to dethrone his father. he had scoffed and snarled at the thought, arms moving to showcase : even locked behind heavy doors, shackled to a place with no windows or natural light, kept locked away — business. it was said — cameras surveillance 24/7, the only place of privacy he was afforded was the bathroom, though they would come knocking would he stay there for too long, and yet even then they dared accuse him of betrayal again. it was those moments he had wished he had known, he had noticed a sliver of defiance and disloyalty against his father ( never the company, it was his to inherit after all )
four years, four years he had been locked in his glorified prison. still, he operated his business and kept his contacts, expanded, and found new and old partners. the turks had allowed it, tolerated and followed along with his plans. he laid the groundwork : he was the mastermind.
but it was not long after this that the papers had found his desk, red ink KILLED IN ACTION blotted SOLDIER's name. filled with disappointment, surely, he had believed, a first-class SOLDIER would be able to get his father off his iron throne ? surely, one of them would be capable of doing the dirty work ? fingers curl in paper, crushes beneath touch into a ball, hurled against the wall in a fit of anger. buffoons, useless ! all of them ! even he was a failure against his father.
but now, the SOLDIER stands before him very much alive and breathing. rufus startles and recoils, a step taken back. was his father wrong, were they wrong ? did they not retrieve the body ? or was it presumed he was consumed by the fire genesis very much breathed ? a single stray thought, a sliver of hope. sephiroth ? his brain whispers.
rufus catches himself and wears his mask of indifference again. a glance to the side, away from the vision before him, a momentary reprieve to let himself think. a plan, to get genesis to work with him ? no matter the consequences, he would gain from it. what would the board think ? the people ? when he returned again with a supposedly dead first-class SOLDIER ? would they fawn ? applaud him ? he opens his mouth, a smile already on his face : upping the charm. " my father.. the company has wronged you — " rufus starts but immediately gets interrupted.
❝ i don’t need to hear about your mistakes. i’ve made enough of my own, thanks. ❞ @poeticphoenix said.
face twists, annoyance clear upon visage. " if you had let me finish i would have apologised and offered you a truce. " had he truly forgotten how annoying those super soldiers were ? another attempt at being civil : " we could rectify our mistakes together. shinra has changed under my command, we are aiming for a better future. " he leaves the implications there, join him.
