Starblush AU Lore Drop
This is a post future au I've been keeping details loose and, in the air, cus I want it to be lars and the stars adjacent.
I named the Au based on flowers, Starblush Roses, his hair being lighter and tight curls resembling rose buds, along with some other obvious changes, he is soft but sturdy he has thorns (half kaiju form?) but still retaining a human skin tone.
To summarize there was word of an insurgence building on the outskirts of the galaxy, steven and the other Diamonds have been keeping tabs on things which unfortunately means more reluctant communication and visitations with the other Diamonds for Steven. No longer being the Diamond Authority, the other Diamonds are wary of the rumors of the insurgence, violent raids, cracked gems, stolen resources, entire sectors lost to the control of old generals and other higher gems believing themselves superior to the common gem. Steven and other crystal gems on earth have been looking into it, but finding volunteers among the war weary has been hard, sending small teams, focusing on non-violence. Avoiding direct conflict mostly helping with the aftermath of raids and distributing his essence to heal cracked gems. It's not enough action to satisfy the other Diamonds, they demand more be done and re-establish themselves as the Matriarchs of Homeworld. They push sending their own assemblies to "deal" with the issues. desperate for control, slacking and slipping into old ways a bit. Steven starts trying to be more hands on trying to get the violence under control and assure the other Diamonds. He's sick of hiding behind other gems, screens and paperwork. He's been soft launching his role as a "matriarch" and being involved with the intricacies of Homeworld politics, and these incidents are not a good look. After a particularly violent raid where there were great losses not just in resources, but gems shattered. Steven and his own personal squad (The Off Colors, Lapis, Peridot etc.) head out to offer help and investigate. Everything goes to shit as they enter the quadrant, separated from the others Steven, holding back his strength, (shattering Jasper flashbacks) fights off emeralds, garnets and other powerful gems, the enemy forces retreat. Steven is still standing but not unscathed. The rush him back to Earth, he's healed but not the same, there's permanent changes after his close call. The more sharp features fade away in time, but he has trouble recognizing his needs, neglecting eating sleeping just basic human functions. Not without repercussions ofc so Peridot helps adjust some zoomin earrings that monitor him, offer visual and audio cues that tell him when to eat, sleep etc. He avoids sleep, throwing himself into work, quelling the insurgence, more Jasper combat training, more Homeworld PR appearances and events. Thats where he's at currently in my au! Comics are hard and idk what I'm doing but definitely will be making more content for this au.
