Effort, it was something Roman was attempting when it came to Sofia and his relationship. Especially after the conversation she had with him about feeling as if she was not a priority in his life, even though that couldn’t be further from the truth. To put in simple terms, Roman was head over heels for Sofia even though he sucked at showing the woman that she owned his heart. Tonight, he wanted to show her just a mild glimpse of the depths of his love for her and hopefully make her feel cherished in love in the process.
There was no rhythm or reason he chose today, just merely their schedules lined up and he knew she would be home that evening. After Sofia left to run whatever errands she needed, Roman left soon after her to gather the ingredients for his famous homemade gumbo, something he only made here and there. But he knew, it became a quick favorite for Sofia when she tried it for the first time. For part of the day, he gathered everything, chopped it all up and now it was merely simmering on the stovetop for a few hours. Next thing on his list, clean the trailer up and do what they do in the movies. Cover the floor with flower petals towards their bedroom and of course create a heart on the bed using the petals, while placing a small box that was wrapped in the center of it. Only thing now was to place all her crystals around the bathtub for their sweet reading time together later that night.
Hours passed as the scent of gumbo filled the small trailer, a light sweat formed along his brow line as he leaned over the stove to stir the large pot that would probably be feeding them for a few days. More than likely he will take some to the shop to share with the other grease monkeys.
Finally, the time arrived when he heard Sofia’s vehicle out front. A smile formed, excited about tonight but also he was a bit nervous. It had been so long since he had done a romantic gesture, he just hoped he didn’t blow this.
“Hey there hot stuff,” he smirked as he stood in the kitchen wearing a cowboy hat that he tipped towards her and of course his apron.
