Bran could see him staring, across the way of the cafe - secluded and empty. Probably due to the late-late hour, a perk of knowing the owner from Bran's side to be here with coffee and silence to enjoy his own company, but also now to notice the other fellow with his shoulders hunched and sketchbook being scribbled into. Bran did his best to keep his face hidden when he wasn't drinking, long sleeves or lingering hands to his masked face to sip at his beverage. He wasn't in the mood when he arrived earlier to be stared upon but with two coffee's in and a long evening of listening to the rain on the window and pencil scratching, he found himself turning his gaze to it.
Watching those eyes flicker, as if capturing different parts of his face but not registering his returning stare, he felt nice. A subject of oddity no doubt, yes - but still something worth the gaze of an artist. He wanted to laugh at his own thoughts, rather camp of him really - but it was a method of self-healing, how to relove himself even if it was through anothers eyes...
Attention dipped, gloved hands raising to hook thumbs under the strings of his mask and proceeds to tug them off his ears. Allowing his face to breathe, his destroyed cheek and scarred lips be on display for a talented youth - but also a test... Would he still be of an artists muse with a face like his?
He did this when he was unable to sleep, walking finding some place that was open for him to sit and watch. Sketch if he could help it. He liked this spot for the people that came in, the coffee was fine and the mint tea was better. It was hard for him to find a place with a good mint tea. It always tasted of home to him.
He had been sketching just random things, a doorway, empty seats, he wasn’t really looking for someone to sketch. It wasn’t until his eyes glanced at the other that he felt drawn to the other. It was strange for Dacian, his eyes roaming first, drinking in the other in a long wayward glance. Then his fingers started to do the work, charcoal in hand as he started the basic’s of the shape.
He wasn’t really captured by something specific of the person in front of him, it was an aura that carried, something that made Dacian want to reach out and touch. Move their features this way and that make sure to capture the light just perfectly upon high cheek bones that shined in the lighting of the cafe.
He had paused his charcoal moving to a pencil to capture some of the minute details he had watched to add, the stitching, the soft pattern in the mask. It was something that Dacian was begging to capture it all, only when he started, fingers rubbing a little to get some shadows and he glanced up.
Eyes connected once more at the person he was sketching. The cheek and lips displayed made him frown at his paper for a moment. He was just going to have to start over it seemed to really capture the skin, the soft movement and shadows of the cheek and scaring. Dacian didn’t find it unappealing, he just frowned at his current drawing because he wasn’t able to salvage that drawing.
So he picked up his charcoals again, green hues stared at the scared cheek, slowly starting to sketch out the basics so if the person decided to leave he was going to be able to finish it. He had several journals with unfinished drawings, he hated it but it was apart of making art after all. So now he always made sure to get everything he could so he could sketch it later if needed. Fingers gently caressing the paper, spending time to layer the shading lightly at first, almost as if he was doing the same to the other’s cheek.
