Y’ALL READY FOR THIS ANGST BC I AM
i. it was clear undyne had too much alcohol in her system .
ii. she was leaning over the counter in her small flat , arms visibly shaking as the woman inhaled deeply to collect herself , despite her drunken state . the same memories would replay in her mind - so much blood on the grass she once stepped on so long ago , and so many human soldiers that died at her hand . her own soldiers , monsters , as the bastards back then called them , were mercilessly slaughtered by the enemy in hundreds , seeming to die for an empty cause . even if she hadn’t died on the battle then and there , undyne wished that she should have . but it was only her drunken thoughts , those she kept locked away , only for the key to be found . and that key was alcohol , about three-quarters of a bottle of whiskey remained on the counter by her side , for her , it was too much .
iii. undyne dared not to remove her hands from the smooth surface of the countertop she leaned against , solely in fear of collapsing . the apples of her cheeks were flushed out of the lack of sobriety , saltwater droplets threatening to swell . undyne had no choice , she had to let her emotions out somehow . but truth was , the spear wielder couldn’t take her emotions out on something or someone - even in her drunken state , she refused to take out her intoxication-induced emotions out on anybody . but those memories .. it was like they never wanted to leave her mind , almost as if someone carved them in . seeing her comrades be brutally murdered constantly brought more tears out from her eyes , collapsing on to her knees , and immediately embracing herself . almost immediately did her shoulders begin to bob rapidly with every gasp of air .
iv. the underground’s strongest warrior had been reduced to tears all because of memories and alcohol .
v. hearing the door open to the room she was in , tear-filled eyes glared to the stranger , at least , that was who she had thought it was , that had made it’s presence known . body still shaking with every sob , the emotional warrior spoke to them , but it was clear she was lying ( and there was obvious evidence ) . “ ... i-i’m fine , “ undyne said , barely choking on her tears , “ y-you can leave ... i’m ... i’m f-fine . “ but it was blatantly clear that , no , she wasn’t fine . and yet it never stopped her from telling the other to not worry about her own wellbeing .
