SKELLIG AU;
His struggle has been an unforgiving one, but all suffering bears its fruit.
Elfhelm is a place of Eden to those of the Brand and the many friends this long road has brought them, and the weary travellers have been welcomed to call the enchanted land their last stop. For now, the years of restless nights are finally over.
After a painful conversation, Guts made the choice to help Casca revive her spirit and fighting valour, reluctantly accepting that there is a chance he may not have her back. This choice was made solely for her sake and future, not his.
Casca meets the rest of Guts’ crew; the ‘strangers’ that have been protecting her for the past year. With time and patience, she begins to find her place among them.
The pair establish an almost motherly relationship with the Burmecian, Freya, an ex-slave whom they met on the island; Freya kindly assists in Casca’s recovery.
With many rough patches in their trials and the urge to give up plaguing him more than once, Guts fails to realise he is gradually gaining back Casca’s trust. His hopes are finally reignited as his old Commander begins to shine through.
After gruelling months, the two are able to share a night together beneath the flowers. It is this moment that cements their decision of remaining on the Island.
The rest of their companions are left with the choice to leave or to stay.
Judeau is alive; Guts and Casca are soon to discover this once they make a brief return to the main land to visit the Hill of Swords. They invite him back to Skellig.
Despite the safety of her people on the Island, Freya can’t help but reminisce on an important person she left behind. Guts and Casca hear about this, and with Roderick’s help, decide it is about time they repay her a debt.
Guts and Judeau have a lot to catch up on, and a certain woman to talk about.
Turns out Judeau and Roderick make a pretty rad BROTP.
An altar of wooden sculptures carved by the Branded trio is created to honour the lives of the long-fallen Hawks. Their pasts are finally laid to rest.
Though the desire for vengeance upon the false Falcon of Light still haunts, and the dust gathering upon his blade and his armour begins to weigh on his regrets, Guts made a vow to remain standing high above his withering inner rage, and to stay true to his promise of not abandoning a certain someone. Never again.
