The ask about Slyvans growing fruits and mushrooms, made me curious, can they sprout roots and get nutrition from the soil like an actual tree? In their completely released form obv

They could, but Sylvans are much more active than regular old stationery trees (so it wouldn't be entirely sufficient), plus they do eat. Elder Sylvans will take root and join their leafy brethren in the forest once they reach a certain age, though.
