sleep seemed to be something that came scarcely as of late. between the fear of being ambushed in the night, and the dread of another visit from their dream friend, nova finds herself spending another night by the campfire. the crackling of flames in the silence of the night is one of the few things that brings her peace these days, given the treacherous state of their journey thus far.
she's lost in thought when her companion approaches, only pulling her attention away from dancing flames when she takes a seat beside the elf. gaze falls upon selene's face in the warm light, and though she doesn't say a word, a sense of comfort relaxes her shoulders. the faintest of smiles tugs at the corner of her lips as rose hues find the fire once more, a hand falling cautiously into the space between them.
if there's one thing nova considers a positive outcome of this horrifying situation, it's that it's nice not to be alone anymore.
