Being back in his home town is a sight for sore eyes, Cam having stepped off the train hours ago but still - he needed time to adjust. And work up the courage, he had been gone too long - far too long, and had been awful about keeping in contact with a certain someone. He was sure Lev was going to be pissed. He would be if the tables were turned, but he didn’t have a choice.

Clutching the cross necklace in his hand he stands outside the church, service over and people slowly pouring out. He didn’t have the courage to go inside for the hour he had been waiting. Just waiting, watching, hoping. 

The sight of Lev is enough to take his breath away, Cam approaching from the side and carefully falling into step with the long legged male. “Lev--” He starts, voice catching in his throat. 

He doesn’t know if Lev is ignoring him, maybe didn’t hear him, he reaches out, catching his hand and stopping the male from moving away from him. His heart is pounded, voice soft as he speaks. “I know It's been a long time since I came around... been a long time but I'm back in town. This time I'm not leaving without you.”

He felt safe and secure lost inside the material of his oversized hoodie, drowned in the fabric from the top of his head to nearly his knees. It made the concept of being incognito a lot easier, even in the early summer evenings the weather was still cool enough that he could get away with wearing the large garment. He didn’t have to be in his persona of Cain, but he didn’t have to face the world as himself entirely either. It was... comfortable. Just like the breeze that swept over the balcony seating of the cafe; quiet as the post dinner rush had faded. 

“Any special requests?” A quirk stumbled on the felines lips, casually regarding the stranger a table or two away. Cam had his acoustic guitar on his lap, he had been absently strumming to the faint songs that could be heard through the window - promptly stopping when one of his own had come on. It was a good enough excuse to down half of his iced coffee, his fingers still cold as he slid them back over strings. “What’s your favourite song?”

His eyes are barely open, just enough that he’s peering at the other. His heart is racing, the cigarette tucked between his fingers burning to ash with no assistance of his lungs. “There’s a drumming noise inside my head that throws me to the ground.” His palm brushes the sweat off his temple, his mouth feeling horribly dry. “I swear that you should hear it, it makes such an almighty sound.” 

His lips purse, “Louder than sirens, louder than bells. Sweeter than heaven, and hotter than hell.” A rush of an exhale, he tossing the cigarette to the ground to stub out with his boot. “It fills my head up and gets louder and louder.”
