sometimes i feel like making riley a huge book fan isn’t very justified and doesn’t feel right, but then i remember that one of his lines sounds like one of the maxims from sun tzu’s art of war and i realize. of course he would totally be into books, especially the ones about battle and war philosophy, because as someone with a passion for pokemon battling, he’d definitely be interested in the philosophies of battle both out of pure fascination, and a wish to better himself as a trainer.
in other words, he’s a fucking nerd. shoves him into a locker
