[2021] Outings!
@divergentpaths said: “It feels like fighting is all there is,” Dorothea says quietly, gazing out over the fishing pond. It’s quiet; everyone else is likely preparing to march on Enbarr in the morning. “Edie and Hubie used to be our friends. Now we have to kill them. I don’t know how else this could end.”
Ferdinand nods, coming up behind Dorothea and placing gentle hands on her shoulders, rubbing them slowly to warm her up. He's been looking for her, and he'd started to get worried, until he saw her silhouette, beautiful against the darkened water. "I know what you mean." He murmurs, looking out over the pond. "You could stay. You don't have to go with us." He doesn't want this either, the death and pain, but it's his duty. He has to set right what Edelgard broke. He has to make a better world for the people that live in it. "This...it's what I was born for, what I was raised to do. But...you shouldn't have to face them." And maybe there's a selfish part of him that wants to keep her out of danger, too.
@divergentpaths said: “Ferdie,” Dorothea says, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as she comes into his office. “You’re not really going to spend the Day of Devotion cooped up in here all day, are you?” Not that she actually thinks he would; he’s as devoted to his family as he is his work, after all. Still, she’s not about to let her husband work himself to death. “I’d say we have an hour or two before the kids wake up. Come on.”
Ferdie looks up from the papers he'd been absorbed in. He hadn't meant to spend so much of the morning in his office, but there's still so much work to do to help the country recover from the war, and he's determined to get as much as he can put back together as quickly as possible so that no innocents suffer any more than they already have. But his wife comes first, always, so he smiles when he sees it's Dorothea with her arms around him. "Hello, love." He lifts a hand to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear. "I hadn't planned on it, no. I'm sorry I've been so wrapped up." He stacks the papers a bit, then stands, turning so that he has his arms wrapped around her waist. He has his own plans for today, but he's excited to see where this goes. "What did you have in mind?"
