very quick q&a on my x-men series!
how i decided on everyone’s power!
woonhak - wanted something really unpredictable + with a lot of potential but he couldn’t control. ended up going with an emotions based power because i think woonhak feels a lot, and so his yn’s power naturally grew from that.
sungho - he was originally supposed to have sakura’s power (weather manipulation) but since i was doing an exes to lovers trope i wanted to play around with a person who can see the future but is reluctant to change it out of fear, and how love that change that. his yn’s power is inspired by kitty pryde, i think it’s so cool.
dongmin - i wanted him and his yn to have the same power so i decided to go with (maybe) the most common power in xmen which is telepathy. i threw in telekinesis otherwise the fight scenes would be boring 💀
donghyun - okay i wanted to explore how someone with such a ‘weak’ ability could somehow still be dangerous… and i will admit his yn’s power being solar themed was for the metaphor alone.
lsfm - i used fire for kazuha because of the scene where she rips her angel wing off, and yunjin got teleportation cuz i thought it’d match her energy! chaewon was inspired by invisible woman and eunchae was going to have her betting poll side quest so i gave her tech powers!
the timeline that definitely makes sense here!
sungho & his yn are the ‘first class’ of xmen
sungho’s yn leaves and mutants like sakura join as the second class
i think to hc heeseung (+enhypen) and woonhak’s yn are part of the same class! but she probably left shortly after joining w/o completing the year lol #dropout
taesan, his yn (+ lsfm), and woonhak probably join around the same time
leehan and his yn join late to the school year
ideas that i definitely thought about but didn't write...
another rival school with mutants (massachusetts academy and hellions i am Here...); mojoverse shenanigans (aka. teleported to a world where they're forced to fight for television)
and then questions from the love of my life rosy @taestulipss: personal favourite out of all the xmen aus (including spidermyung and rius)? and you have to say why

spidermyung > woonhak > riu > leehan > sungho > taesan
hmmm you know this about me but spidermyung is definitely the type of Pathetic™ i like in my men sooo i really enjoyed writing about him and the interactions between him and yn. another thing which is maybe a little more cheesy is that i think a lot of the stuff i wrote in the two installments is things i want actual myung jaehyun to hear ^^ it came from the heart!
hakie! a big reason of why i like this fic so much is because of his yn! writing her was just soooo fun and idk i thought i was at my comedic peak with it
okok riwoo’s one is just short and sweet (maybe too short but whatever) and i liked his development with yn as well! also writing an anxious yn and kinda the double life she and riwoo was living was very fun!
ihanie is next mostly because i looove writing the childhood scenes between donghyun and yn! my cutie patooties…
for the last two - it’s not that i don’t like it i just don’t think my strengths lie in the tropes of exes back to lovers or rivals/enemies to lovers eek so not my favourites in the series!
pls give leehanyn their happy ending in ystslb plsplsplsplspls i don't like seeing my sunshine girl be sad pls give her her fish back

do we ever get to see riu and myungjae in the x-men au? i know I've already talked to u about this lwk but even if it happens behind the fics, where do these two fit into in the overall universe?
hehe well first of all if you remember the ‘what type of dog is myungjae’ poll i did… it’s because riu and myungjae feature as puppies in ystslb!
but talking about human riu and jae, i like to think that jae has beef with the mutants because he doesn’t like how they’re like a literal military force (“WHY ARE YOU RAISING A CHILD ARMY IN YOUR MYSTERIOUS MANSION” jaehyun @ sungho). meanwhile i think riwoo is a little bit more removed from everyone else! he probably lives in like. ontario canada or something LOL.
how does Woonhak's yn feel about the rest of the mansion lmao (specifically dongmin)? ifl she only has enough patience for unak and she'd be tired of anything more
we all know how she feels about sungho (LOL) but she’s probably a fan of his yn ngl! as a popstar and as a fellow dropout <3. she probably only gets to interact with everyone else after dating woonhak but i feel like dongmin (and probably his yn too they’re just both uber competitive) would be like “you’re just the bargain bin version of me L” but she reacts faster than him so he’d be frustrated teehee. i don't think she'd have much thoughts on donghyun but his yn... let's just say wait for the sequel to ystslb <3
