"i promise you, i won't be a good company." lena would rather join alex on a girls' night, drink a couple of glasses of red wine, watch some trashy tv she'd never watch on her own, but sometimes her heart is too guarded to allow her to say yes. "besides, i have all this paper work to go through." she lifts a couple of files that have no urgency.

"you, again." lena has barely lifted her eyes from the papers she was signing when helen walks in her office, knowing the other wasn't going to just stand there. sometimes she wishes she could just make her brother's puppies disappear. "lex's not here. probably won't return." she wants to say ever, if she knew it would make helen never disturb her peace again. "i'd say sorry for making all the way down here but i am not." and a smile, at last. it isn't friendly though.
