Lois continues, her expression more careful and serious than it was a minute ago. At work, Clark could get away with being clueless but he knows he has only a few more seconds before Lois is annoyed with him for it.

"Only if I get to put chocolate chips in it," Clark assures her, setting down his own bagel to give Lois the focus she deserves.

"If I didn't know better," he says, "I'd think you were hinting that I should move in."

"i forget sometimes you can be funny." she puts the bagel down and drinks out of her coffee. it brings her clarity, which she desperately needs it. she doesn't want clark to get the wrong idea but to put out in the world what she wants out of her relationship - it's hard. "but would you want to?" mug is dangerously close to her lips, in an attempt to protect her in case his super hearing has failed him. her eyes, however, never been more widen open, waiting for a positive answer.
