Yeah, okay, but guys, how about trans!Crowley?
- Rowena has her child and the midwife goes “it’s a girl!” and Rowena subtly checks up on the child with some basically harmless spells, honestly and she thinks no, it isn’t.
- Rowena being a horrible mother, as per canon, but this she gets right, if only because she couldn’t care less. So she calls her child Fergus and introduces him as her son.
- The deal “three pigs for my only son, I’m cutting my own throat here!” falling through because the farmer doesn’t want a girl working on his land, and Rowena makes sure no one works on that farm for longer than a week again. Mostly because by that point they’ve all died.
- The locals picking up on this, and when Rowena flees, leaving her son behind because he’d only hold her back, “Fergie” ends up in a workhouse where they’re annoyingly insistent that he “act like a lady.”
- Fergus figuring out how to bind his chest (he’s a skinny runt, doesn’t have much in the way of breasts anyway, so it’s not that hard) and hide his periods, but it’s pointless because everyone already “knows” he’s a girl anyway.
- Fergus falling for a man who has enough money to support a wife, but who abandons him upon realising he doesn’t want to be treated like a woman.
- Fergus giving birth to Gavin and immediately leaving town, stealing, lying and occasionally magicking his way to a respectable position as a merchant and a single father.
- Dysphoria catching up with Fergus, along with his son calling him “Mum” whenever he really wants his words to sting (though let’s be honest, Fergus is a horrible father).
- Fergus finally meeting up with a Crossroads demon and saying he wants an eleven-inch dick, so when people ask why he sold his soul he can just say he “wanted to hit double digits” instead of confessing it had been less about “a few more inches” and more about “any inches at all.”
- Fergus never regretting his deal, until he realises Hell’s torture goes beyond just pain - there’s a big psychological component and he ends up suffering perpetual misgendering alongside everything else. He breaks unsurprisingly easily.
- The moment Fergus becomes Crowley, no one bothers misgendering him anymore. Mostly because they don’t know, but those who do just don’t care. Crowley suddenly hates Hell just a little bit less.
- Crowley making a point of only ever taking male vessels.
- Crowley taking great pleasure in middle-aged straight white men’s reactions when he tells them they have to kiss him, because they’d never be that disgusted if they thought he was a woman.
- Crowley telling Linda Tran “and you? You’re a mum.” with such disgust, not just because he hated his own mother, but because he’s been a mother and it sure made him feel like the most pathetic creature on Earth.
- Linda Tran being so horribly shaken by Crowley’s possession, not just because of the possession itself, but because of the state Crowley was in at wearing a woman’s body again - especially a mother’s.
(- Linda finds herself reevaluating her gender identity afterwards. She comes out of it still cis, but maybe a bit more bisexual than she’d previously realised. Kevin is just glad his mother is speaking in full sentences again.)
- Crowley spilling the truth to Sam during the third Trial, and Sam keeping mum about it because, sure, Dean might have a laugh at it, but that seems... wrong? And maybe Crowley doesn’t... deserve... that? It’s weird to have any sort of kind feelings towards Crowley, but for all that Sam hates the demon, he sure sympathises with being forced into a role that doesn’t suit him.
- Rowena showing up again and saying “Fergus” and it’s not just because she thinks she is more important than his sense of self, it’s also a reminder that she’s always known who he is, that she’s always accepted him, that she loves him, because she’s a master manipulator and, indeed, it works like a charm.
- Crowley being Crowley, King of Rotten and utter arsehole and loving it, but maybe, sometimes, quietly handing a few hundreds to homeless MOGAI youth, just because he can.
Just... trans!Crowley, anyone?
