that was then.
things are a little different now @lgcyuxi
the days would drag at times when haeun was too focused on what she was doing. so the simple answer was to let her brain drift, go on autopilot, and allow the days to pass her by. that's how it's been as of late. even getting through chuseok was more energy than it was worth. fake smiles, pretending everything was okay. it was exhausting.
haeun was exhausted.
just when she feels like giving up, she finds a little piece of her that can keep going. that's how it is every morning: finding that tiny part of her that still has the willpower to do what she has to. and every night, she curls up in her bed and decompresses. that's all she's been doing. all she can do.
haeun was once again, seemingly on autopilot. her mind drifting elsewhere as she walked through the halls of legacy. her eyes were glazed and unfocused. her shoulders were hunched, as if she was physically trying to shield herself from the world as she walked. what she needed protecting from, she doesn't know. maybe she needs protection from herself.
she doesn't even notice yuxi, who at some point lit a fire inside haeun like no other. someone who haeun would measure herself against on the regular. back when they were both trainees of course. but that was then. now yuxi was a hot shot idol.
haeun didn't even come close to measuring up to her now.
