Unpopular folklore opinion: the lyricism on TTPD (esp the anthology) is much better, but the acoustic production on folklore tricks them into thinking the songs are more poetic, because they instinctively associate pop with trite lyrics. If she’d sung the same things over a folklore backing track, it would be regarded as a lyrical masterpiece.
