For this Yuri picture after doing all these steps I took the yellow of the background and with the paint brush tool I made a new layer and painted yellow around the image.  I like the look better with the painted yellow layer.  (You can see that here.) I also copied all layers, pasted, and set to 45% screen, for my final product linked before.
