“So uh...I got in a fight with this girl at the shelter, and I’m pretty sure she’s planning to stab me in my sleep. Can I just-- Can I crash here tonight?” Piper picks at a loose fabric of her jeans, twirling it tightly around one tiny finger, the tip turning a deep purple from the lack of circulation. “I’m sorry I keep showing up like this...” she adds a second late, feeling a little jumpy and on edge. It doesn’t help that it’s been almost two days since her last fix.
