she’s nervous. why is she nervous? her fingers curled tight around the handle of her suitcase as she walks through the tunnel towards the airport terminal. it felt so strange to return to new york after four years in england. it had been hard, being away from peter. but living her dream in england while attending oxford university was incredible. and made the long-distance relationship with peter, a little easier.
with each step closer to the gate, gwen’s excitement growing. rounding a corner and letting her eyes scan the group of people waiting. looking for his face. and when she sees it -- god. it’s like everything within her melts. vision already blurring with tears. rushing over to him and wrapping her arms around him tightly. they’d hardly been able to see each other while she was gone.
