I also think this year's show is DESPERATELY stacking the deck for a Girl category winner, because Simon's roster of them is running low and last year was supposed to go to Ella (everyone knows it; that's what ALL of the marketing led to up until her GENUINELY SHOCKING dismissal), so now they have to try extra-hard to make sure the talented/likable acts are all the Girls. (That's why they got Nicole, too, lbr.)

Not here for people insulting Ella by trying to compliment George/Ella in saying how great it is that they're dating because "he's hot but she's not thin, and that's so revolutionary" (and that's the nicest way I've seen it put). He's fucking lucky to have her because she's the breakout star of this year's X Factor regardless of who wins and she's talented and humble and gorgeous as all hell, so...
