I'm slowly indoctrinating my little old normie ladies into the nerd life. Tomorrow they're learning about Spider-Man whether they want to or not. Just like the rest of us.

Menswear Menagerie: Summer some more
reminder that in avengers infinity war buckys last words were literally ‘steve…’
pushing that stucky agenda as per usual
people who comment on fics just to say that they are re-reading and still cried/felt emotions/loved it are the greatest people on earth and should be given a thousand dollars.
addition: people who comment on fics to say that they are not even in this fandom and didn’t know the characters at all but read it anyway and loved it are also the greatest people on earth and should also be given a thousand dollars.
it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!
Spider-Man: Brand New Day dir. Destin Daniel Cretton | 2026
do you think the dc universe has a news site like the onion that’s just like…
“meddling parents still alive, preventing bruce wayne from adopting yet anther orphan”
“new study shows that 87% of all americans class superman as american citizen despite being born on a different planet, but only 49% avoided eye contact when asked about why martian manhunter doesn’t count”
“area woman thanking her lucky stars that batman and superman fell out on the same day she was due to go to boss’ niece’s bat mitzvah”
“arkham guard astonished by trip to iron heights, only now learning what locks are for”
“area man pretty sure he should be making more than $60k a year if his boss has 10 billion dollars to waste on robotic exosuit”
“breaking news: lex luthor sues superman for loss of earnings, claims that continually losing fights to him is negatively affecting his work ethic”
“Hub City mayor declares state of unemergency after two hours without a violent crime”
“grown man who dresses in halloween costume every night thinks clown his biggest problem”
“disappointed child realizes Booster Gold at birthday party the real one, not just a guy in a costume”
“drunk Aquaman rampages through ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ride”
“new Teen Titan not attached to any Justice League member wonders why they’ve been issued a uniform with a red shirt”
“Earth totally not a tax haven, say Green Lantern Corps as they assign eighth lantern to same planet”
“’no one knows how to stop him’ says armed police officer as non-powered clown-themed supervillain begins 82nd massacre this year”
Halfway through these I forgot that these were supposed to be Onion headlines and not actual headlines for the DC universe.
i’m not procrastinating. i’m allowing the story to ferment. like kimchi. or a crime scene
Hot day at Coney Island.

Have you tried junk journaling?
Random question, but yes! I'm not great at straight-up collage style junk journaling, but I love making fancy planner pages with stickers and papers.
ALSO! MY GIRL SILK WAS 100% THAT THROWAWAY CHARACTER NAMED CINDY, NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE!!!
you have to be careful reading too many things that are good/smart/well-written bc then you encounter something that isnt and you get confused like ? why didnt they just make this good ? were they stupid
Also I finally watched the Doomsday trailer (before Spider-Man) and I hate how fluttery my chest got at that soft, gentle "hey, pal"
honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
Why yes, I DID cry thrice during Spider-Man: Brand New Day
