this isn’t great, i literally threw it together in less than an hour, but it’s been on my mind for a while so i’m just gonna post it.

he stares at the mirror but the reflection staring back is of a person he doesn’t recognise. dyed blond hair, dark roots starting to show around the edges. brown contact lenses hiding the blue behind them; everything about him is a lie. even his name, a name given to him by a desperate mother on the run with her child.

it feels impersonal rolling off his tongue like a foreign word. it feels like a different person is wearing his skin, stealing away his life. laurent is vicious and brutal, but the boy beneath is just tired.
