i’m sure he will have very carefully prepared statements to explain how much he supports the queer community and they’ll be in big pull-out bubbles next to his bulge

Whatever, stop making my actual feelings as a lesbian some kind of fandom-political game. This is not about Larries or anti-Larries or anything to fucking do with that ship. It’s about Liam fucking up the same way as always, trying to cover for it the same way as always, and actual queer fans being hurt. I don’t give a fuck about your fandom politics, I care about being even marginally fake-respected by people I give money to and I care about the queer fans who were there last night who were hurt.

Nothing about my identity has anything to do with a slash ship. If you’re dismissing all queer fans’ Liam criticism because you assume they’re fakers attached to a ship, you’re fucking gross.

I think it's really upsetting that fans who were voicing about how upset they were about it were getting bashed for "being mean to Liam" or "hurting Liam's feelings" as if what he said was completely ok? And then they try to make us feel bad?

YUP.

If Liam actually felt like shit, he would have apologized first, not last – and not only after accomplishing his goal of being defended and the hurt people drowned out.

I have so many messages about “hdu people now liam will be sad remembering that concert” I’m NGL:

I don’t fucking think Liam would have had any specific memories of that show ANYWAY, but you know who would? The fans who paid to go and it was a special night for them. It’s part of a tour for Liam, it’s not a special night for him, sorry, it’s just another night at the office.

But the queer fans in the audience for whom it was special? It’s THEM who have sad memories of it now who matter. Not fuckin’ Liam.

all i’m going to say is to paraphrase something i said on twitter right before he started his straight male emo woe-is-me-again-poor-leeyum act:

liam’s role/trope in this band has always been “the underdog.” he was the one who didn’t make it the first time, he was the one who didn’t have any friends for his birthday party, poor liam the sickly child, poor liam so sheltered.

he’s fallen for his own fake persona, and it’s crap. he’s never been the underdog. he’s a straight white male with dedicated parents who helped him get paying gigs for years before 1D, he was like an olympic-class runner, he’s in the most successful band in the world, and he has access to idk human beings whose job it is to teach him how to fucking apologize.

the poor-me act is entirely a manipulation based on male entitlement because he knows his primarily-female (AND APPARENTLY STRAIGHT IF THEY’RE ~GENERAL NORMIES LOL~ Y’KNOW) fanbase has been socially conditioned to fall all over themselves to tell him that he’s wonderful if he acts like he’s the victim.

he’s not the fucking victim. the fans who were hurt AGAIN by his callous bro-ish heteronormative attitude and got a shitty “I’m sorry but YOU’RE MEAN” “apology” are the victims. liam already knows that the world at large thinks he’s pretty wonderful.

he would not have been on that stage, with the platform that he has, if it didn’t.
