Day about him. And not even just him like the entire history department (there were like 5 teachers) is so god damn insane and just- all of mine there was a new experience everyday and my friends would me about the shit that the others would do.

I think the most uncomfortable thing is that the actors involved are like "oh well he's at the age of consent in the country it happens in so it's okay" but like...... if it were a 20 year old guy and a 16 year old girl (which is legal in a lot of states!!!!) people would be up in arms. Legality is not the issue. It's an imbalance of power and an extreme difference in knowledge about the world and about romantic relationships in general. That's the issue.

Honestly it’s not a matter of gender, any scenario involving a grown ass adult dating a minor is fucked up. Adults shouldn’t date teenagers, regardless of ‘legality’ like jfc I can’t believe we even need to say this. Shows/books that romanticise such relationships do so much damage, because in no situation ever will such a dynamic be harmless to the younger person involved.
