MAY 7:   write a letter to the person who you feel the worst about hurting.  are you apologetic, uncaring, etc.

Dearest Ava & Wren: Does writing a letter seem archaic to the two of you? This is simply a psychological exercise, so to speak, where the words I've written won't quite reach your eyes but... perhaps I should think of this as a rough draft, an essay, for the words I should some day be able to say to the both of you. Separately, if I were given the choice. If you were both to give me the time, your patience along with it. You owe me nothing. You asked for nothing. You needed very little and still I failed you. I felt it necessary to express that, however harsh the words. You are my child... my children, and I foolishly believed I was doing what was best for you -- though I wasn't dumb enough to believe that for your entire lives. There was a point reached where it was... simply hard, to go back. To rewind time, which is so precious, and make things better. So I didn't. I let distance, I let what was probably seen as indifference divide us, and I did... not enough to stop it. I love you. Is it too late to say this? Is it too embarrassing to -hear- read? Is it something you'd still believe? I promise that the happiest days of my life were those where I had the chance, the opportunity, to spend them with you. And I'm sorry that I haven't been able to show you just how much you are loved. How much you both mean to me. I would very much like the opportunity to say some of these thoughts to you, still, to ensure that not all of the wrong I’ve caused you goes unpunished, unmentioned other than in my thoughts. The time I’ve misspent by not being with you cannot be brought back - or turned back, but I will hope to earn your forgiveness all the same. To better myself for you.

My children. They’re... quite simply, the greatest achievement I’ll ever have.

MAY 16:   how are you with technology? super savvy, or way behind the times? letters or email?

I am not very savvy, however I understand evolution is... something must simply adapt to. I am, however, guilty of the sin of calling people rather than writing to them. My son has told me it’s a practice that is almost entirely in disuse, nowadays, though I’ve managed to get him to come around to a video call once in a while. I can compose either e-mails or letters, thankfully, as long as it’s on an actual keyboard. My phone’s surface is simply too small.

MAY 2: describe your relationship with your parents. was it good? bad? were you spoiled rotten, ignored? do you still get along now, or no?

I was adopted by my parents, I’m afraid I never quite... got any information as to my biological ones. They weren’t very enthusiastic on my... starting my family quite so young, so they essentially cut me out of their lives. They’ve passed on, now, but they missed out on meeting my children out of their own stubbornness. It... wasn’t the most loving of relationships, I’m afraid.
