☆ — you've been signed to nova for about 6 months, what was your impression of the company/trainees and how has it differed from the start?

“What, has it been six months already? Time really does fly when your whole life revolves around training.” He laughed and ran a hand through his hair. “My initial impression of Nova was ‘waah… can’t believe I’m here’ and now it’s ‘holy shit something big is happening are we ready for this’. As for the trainees… I’ve always had the utmost respect for my seniors, they’ve been at the company for so long without any word about debut and yet they’ve kept going. Their strength makes them super cool in my eyes. They’re truly inspiring. I love you all~! Let’s get through these next three months in one piece! Fighting~!”

if we break up for some reason in the future, do you think our friendship would be over or we'd be able to go through this and stay best friends?

“This is a sad question. Why would you make me sad like this, Dodo?” He pouted and tilted his head. “But I think if we do break up, it’d be a mutual decision. I don’t think that one day one of us will be like ‘ya, let’s stop seeing each other’, but it’ll be discussed and agreed upon. We owe each other that much you know? So that’s why I think we’ll still be friends—best friends, even—afterwards.” Hosung nods as if to punctuate his statement.

“Why, you thinking of going solo?”

would you rather have sunwoo or dohoon in your life?

“That’s not a fair question and you know it.”

He looked away, crossing his arms. Choosing between two best friends? Choosing one to be dead? No, that was too cruel.

“If I can’t have both then I’d rather be the one who’s gone. Do Hoon and Sunwoo were good friends before Sunwoo even knew me… so it would be better if I was gone.”

what's your favorite memory with me? past or present.

“Ahh~ Doyeon-ah, that’s not fair!” Hosung shook his head as he smiled softly. “We have such a history it’s impossible to choose just one… you’re really putting me on the spot here!” 

There were a million memories to choose from, each with their own sentimental value. They’d known each other since they were in primary school and spent countless hours hanging out even when they were in different middle and high schools. She was his neighbourhood dongsaeng, that girl who he made friends with in the local park and took on adventures, the one who become his steadfast cliff at his lowest point. She was such a big part of his world he didn’t know where to start.

Although, what better place to start than at the beginning?

“Well, one of my favourite memories is from when we were small. This was only like… the second or third time I’d met you, but you’d fallen and scraped your knee and you were trying your hardest not to cry. So I gave you a piggyback to our local corner shop and used my pocket money to buy a plaster and two ice creams. So then we sat there together outside the shop happily eating. Your smile was so cute. It was also the first time you called me ‘oppa’, remember?”

did you ever crush on sunwoo back when you were friends with dohoon? could you have?

“Sunwoo-ya, is that you?” Hosung laughs softly and shakes his head. “No, I never had a crush on him. Or Do Hoon. To be honest I didn’t have a crush on anyone when we were in high school. Did I think people were cute? Oh, for sure, but I never really thought about dating anyone. Didn’t see the need, you know. As for if I could have had a crush on him… Sunwoo isn’t my style really. But if it were Convex’s Yien… perhaps.”

do you think you're a better singer than sunwoo?

“Technically speaking, no. I don’t have that kind of training. But I make up for it in stage charisma. So I’d say Sunwoo is a better singer but I’m a better performer if that makes sense. Sorry, Woonie.”

“I love you so much, my 엉동미니~!” Hosung sing songed, “You know that already but I guess I’ll have to tell you again. I love my cute dongsaeng to the moon and back and would do anything for you. You’re a good bean, pal.”

which convex member do you think is the hottest?

“Well, objectively speaking they’re all handsome. Since I don’t know them personally I can’t really factor in their personalities but I’d say that it’s a tie between convex’s hyun, k.i., and yien. I wish I could be half as handsome as them.”
