[ once she knew him better than he knew himself, and god, does he feel lost without that reality. he engages in a brief debate in his head before reaching over to grasp her hand and curl his fingers around it. ]
"Then let me tell you."
[ She stares down at his hand, clasping around hers, and something inside stirs. It's so familiar. She can hardly see anything wrong. But, she doesn't know this man. And her head is spinning. Hand tearing away from his, she jolts up. ]
