have i asked you yet for your top 5 act i finales
i think i'm going to have to cheat and do top 10 because every time i thought i was done i would think of a new one...
"astonishing" from little women will always always always be my number one. it holds a lot of personal meaning for me, but it's also just sutton foster's best performance. it's so so so so good
"MORNING GLOW" FROM PIPPIN SONG OF ALL TIME
i mean i have to go with "defying gravity" from wicked it's the rules
if i think too long about "bad idea" from waitress i start vibrating
i listened to bandstand on the way to work this morning and "right this way" is SO fucking good. bandstand most underrated show of all time
"anything goes" from anything goes fills me with such joy. i dare you to listen to it and not immediately smile
"why we build the wall" from hadestown. it would have been so easy to end the act with "wait for me," and i have such respect for anais mitchell for not doing that. it adds this sense of unease throughout intermission that is SO fitting. this isn't the story of a hero and a triumphant rescue. it's a sad tale. it's a tragedy
i nearly lumped "santa fe" from newsies in as a tie with "right this way" because they have really similar vibes. i love you jeremy jordan
"marry me a little" from company! i'm going to be singing this in voice lessons next semester and i'm so excited
now i do have to cheat even more and do a tie between "nonstop" from hamilton and "blackout" from in the heights. they're both lmm shows i think i can get away with this one
