anw i’ve said this before on another blog (chris, maybe?) but modern day indiana is a big proponent of artifacts being returned to their ... appropriate culture? like, he’s very anti ‘colonisers came in and took these things used in important cultural ceremonies, just so they can shove them in a museum’ and very pro ‘return them to their rightful owners’. obviously sometimes - depending upon the culture and the items - this does mean the things end up in museums, but usually those are ... their own museums (sarcophagi in cairo museum, for example). but yeah he’s very much not a ‘yoink! imma take this to a museum so u can’t have it sry :)’ type man like fedora and rené belloq are
