I see your florist Fez and raise you baker Lexi. I already went off on a tangent in the discord chat but…
I imagine Lexi as a baker with flour on her cheek and she retreats to the back of the door, stressed and in need of a break and fez is taking out the trash or something when he sees her and after he lets her vent, he placates her and then softly rubs off the bits of flour on her cheek. He’s looking at her softly, his eyes watching the flush bloom under cheek. “Just got a lil’ something,” he murmurs.
And after that Lexi cares less if he sees her a mess because she hopes he takes it as an excuse to touch her and he does. Tentatively at first but when he sees she comfortable with it, he grows more confident.
And then he starts bringing her a different flower everyday to cheer her up and once they get more comfortable with each other, he takes the flower and brushes it across her skin, across the cheek he once brushed flour from, and he wants to capture the moment. A snapshot in his mind as the setting sun shines in and across her face.
And then…kiss. Because he’s entranced. The sweetness of the freshly baked cookies combined with the scent of the flower and that hint of something inherently Lexi and he’s drawn in, compelled to step closer, close the distance between them so that he can inhale her, devour her
And once they’re together, they teach each other a little about their specialty. Fez tells her how to keep the flowers fresh and how to best preserve the petals (bc she most definitely keeps all the flowers he gives her, pressed in a book) and she teaches him how to knead dough just right so as to not overdo it but enough to give it the care it needs. And of course, they have flour and flower all over them 🥰
And of course, Fez takes her out to the farms where he gets his shipments from and they have tumble among the flowers. She smells like them even the next day. They have a tumble in her industrial back kitchen among sugar and flour and he swears he can taste sugar on his tongue, lingering long after.
And then when they get married, they join forces and create a cafe/flower shop that is all the rage and the go-to on Valentines where people stop by to get their flowers and desserts for loved ones. It’s the shop of Love, as they know it. Lexi has one of those menus that tell customers a little about their stories. It’s a brief little thing, but it talks about how the baker and florist found love among sugar and petals.
