Guys, I found a new job and today is my last day at this place.
I told my boss on Monday I was resigning. I apologized for only giving a week’s notice.
He barely talks to me the entire week.
Feeling bad about giving short notice, I do the work I’ve been assigned. I complete it all. It’s good quality. I have all of the social queued for July. A lot of my other projects were delayed and wouldn’t be started until September anyway. So, they’re okay in terms of workload. They wouldn’t have to take on a lot because of my departure.
Today he sets up a goodbye call. What does he do?
He calls me unprofessional.
Then, as if he didn’t insult me, goes “Now with the hard stuff out of the way, do you have any feedback for me? Want my email for help?”
This is all after I accepted this job thinking it’d be in content development and it wasn’t. So this whole time they’ve strung me along, didn’t know what they wanted, and tried to redirect me to different tasks I didn’t ask for or want to do. But I’m unprofessional?
And I still just smiled and went “Okay” because I am professional.
You know what’s unprofessional? A grown ass 40 year-old fucking man ignoring me all week just to be petty enough to set up a call with the sole intent of insulting me. Then acting like he’s doing me a favor by giving me his email address.
Corporate America is toxic and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
