Permeate
(Word for the day)
You can refer to Oxford or some other known dictionaries to get a technical definition of this word but I'm strictly going to elaborate and dive deep into its exegesis in relation to my personal journey and ambitions.
While our evolving journey on earth meets with its own needs - biological, emotional, financial, social, spiritual - the list goes on. But when I look back and introspect myself, what comes at the top of the pyramid and my greatest self actualisation need is lingering around this word.
At some point, I was mistaken to think that I needed the experience but that wasn't it, for a mere experience was too shallow to make me feel enriched. I simply wanted to permeate, whatever be the subject in that very moment. I'm writing - yes, I want to permeate into every line, every word, every letter, every single apostrophe, even the space between two words, or even the endless continuum that is there after something that is written. I'm mating - yes, I want to permeate in that very moment of devouring someone unrestrictedly, without a thought of any consequences, unashamedly. I'm eating - yes, I want to permeate into the very dish that is being savoured in my mouth, enjoying not just its taste but also the colours and sounds and aroma and how it feels in my fingers.
To permeate isn't just to immerse oneself in the object but it is to actually become that vey object such that the I in me disappears. I wouldn't exist in that moment of eternity but there is a total dissolving into the matter at hand. It is the highest form of experience, empathy at its peak, resonance beyond boundaries - you become that, you shed your own skin for a while. And then when you return, you are a new you, a layer of something else added on to you, a new breed, a renewed species, a distinct mutant, a conquest of an unknown horizon.
That to me is what permeate suggest, something being ventured upon - be that a book, a movie, a song, a cuisine, a place, a person. To come out of my own limited realm of existence and move into another untouched realm at its absolute possible level...
