Prom -Part 4-
Like the ocean finds the shore, I’ll always find her.
And there I was, staying in my damn car for 2 damned hours, waiting for her to get outside that fancy building. Many of them had already gone home, except for her. What a coward, I joined the army to be afraid of telling my feelings for her.. I love her and that’s the beginning and end of everything! when she left I looked for her in everything. the sun became her laugh and the stars became her eyes, the rain became her tears. So I wrote her, almost everyday, letters that I’ve never sent to her in person, only through her grandmother, letters that maybe she threw in the gutter or flushed away.. Oh, how she laughed with my demons and cried with my angels..
I finally got the courage to go in. There were a few couples dancing and no trace of her. Until.. I saw her, down the stairs, I looked and looked at her, and I knew, as clearly as I know that I will die, that I loved her more than anything I had ever seen or imagined on earth. Without realizing it, I approached her, and she looked down at me, her pupils dilated, how I missed those eyes, like sunsets after a storm. Our looks so merged in one the world outside grew vacant, suddenly, and all things being seen, endured and done were crowded into us: just she and I.
