Setting aside that Shuichi is schooled in psychology, enough to suggest that he probably would realise, if he considered it, that Ouma’s joke was done in a poor mental state, you know what he actually, legitimately *IS* obligated to do?

Confirm for his damn self that he’s not screwing around. Get a whiff of the blood on his head before denouncing him. You know, the blood that was dripping down his face and couldn’t have been faked whatsoever.

But okay, it’s fine for him to ignore literal walking evidence if it annoys him. Cool.

Just imagine for a moment, the raw power of hypnosis let loose. Imagine the discord that could be sown on the outside with this unseen talent. And what’s more, is that it doesn’t leave any evidence. 

It’s like the rampage incidents in P5 all over again- another person’s mind - even their state - is affected before they even know what’s going on. Such a talent can be taken advantage of for acquiring absurd levels of power.

Consider also the [sheer brutality of talent training] where Maki was used and abused to a near breaking point, pushing her physical limits. And this was for assassin training. What kind of underground training would be required for a manipulative, supernatural power? Forget physical limits, this is the kind of shit that would push the very limits of a person’s psychology.

Not just to the breaking point, but beyond it.

What do we have here? A personalised Flashback Light with individuals from that person’s life. These aren’t just randos, or ‘friends from the school’ who could be anyone, these folks have a true resemblance to Kaito.

What’s more is the lack of detail here: that they simply wish for him to be safe. They know he’s in dire straits, and can’t talk about the details; a considerably different situation from the final Flashback Light, which is the person being psyched up for a journey. 

Strange that it’s this way, considering that the Ultimate Astronaut is supposedly going on the journey of his lifetime...

We’re also made aware that something had happened to them, and we know that something did...

...because of the fate of DICE.

What’s also curious about this particular one, is how Monokuma makes a point of suggesting ‘don’t take my word for it’, yet in the case of Ouma’s motive video, the meagre information he gives about DICE... is all he has to give. Hmmm.

Brief rundown of thoughts re. early Flashback Lights, and situation of each.

Ultimate talent memories restored, but locked at a certain point in time, before the Ultimate Hunt. It’s possible other memories relating to talent are also locked, resulting in gaps.

Ultimate Hunt chase memories restored, specifics locked. Sketchy. The only clear memory of the Ultimate Hunt appears to be the sealing, which is specific enough to involve the facility they used.

Motive videos, restoring memories related to Ultimate talent during the disaster of the country (evidenced by Kirumi’s video, and corroborated by Monokuma). That said, any specifics to the Ultimate Hunt are still locked. Also, a very unique Flashback Light in that it was lovingly fashioned as opposed to data-dumped into a typical light. Notable that Ouma wanted everyone to watch these, to crash the game.

Group funeral playback. Explicitly denoted as a scene, only it appears to be different from what is displayed outside. Emphasis is on ‘that group’ responsible for apparently killing them.

Angie crushed it. Who knows. Other than that Monodam said that it would help them get along...

Meteorite rain. A lot of talk about what’s been going on in the news, hearsay about meteorites and the approaching end of the world, notes of damage being done outside, and groups of people talking about mankind deserving damnation. Mentions of the Gofer Project and its failure, but the specifics are still locked.

Notable here, is Ouma saying that ‘one more thing will make everything connect’. However, it’s after this point you get the dubious Hope’s Peak light, and things start to go downhill.
