1. What, specifically, was the catalyst for their physical attraction (if applicable) to the other character? In other words, what in particular had them like “Oh, they’re…hot…”

Samir and Erzsy have been extremely close childhood friends and each other's firsts for a lot of things. The attraction was always kind of there when they grew into it in their adolescence.

Samir's attraction to Ethanael felt very sudden for him after a particularly intimate and spiritual conversation under the moonlight in the Water Crone's church. And likely, Ethanael probably felt the same spark in that moment as he watched Samir take a drag of his smoke.

And for Ethanael noticing his attraction to Erzsy was after she stole their first kiss after a long game of cat and mouse between them.

7. Do they (or would they) pursue the other character’s affection, and if so, how? Do they tell the other character how they feel? Try to earn their admiration? Woo them with romantic gestures? Flirt with them, skillfully or otherwise?

I wouldn't say Ethanael tries to pursue them intentionally, but he does tries to earn Samir and Erzsy's admiration. He hopes to be worthy of their affections. He's just heartrendingly earnest and expresses his feelings through classic romantic overtures. But my god though Ethanael did try really hard to earn Samir's admiration especially considering the circumstances the three found themselves in with Erzsy in the middle of it.
