Dylan apparated to the Parkinson estate that evening, despite multiple failed attempts to convince Pansy he’d come down with some sort of American muggle sickness while he’d been in New York. Dylan was a good actor, but he wasn’t good enough. He’d never been able to fool Pansy. Unfortunately, and before he could try and find his sister, their grandmother spotted him the second he walked through the foyer. Dylan immediately plastered a smile on his face.

“Cypress, darling.” He inwardly winced at the use of his given name, but kept the smile as he leaned down to hug the shorter woman.

“Hi,” Dylan kissed both cheeks and stepped back, glancing down the hall for any sign of her husband.

“Your sister’s in the study,” she said, wrongly assuming that he was looking for Chrissie. Dylan nodded as she wrapped her arm around his, walking with her to the next room. “You know, dearest. I was so hoping you two would be bringing guests tonight. At least you.” And there it was. “It’d be so good of you to meet a nice girl, Cypress.”

“Mhm,” Dylan hummed, looking down at her forcing another smile. He kissed her cheek and let go of her hand. “I’ll go get Chrissie for dinner.” Without waiting for his grandmother to give him much of a response, he went down the hallway to the study where he knew his sister was subtly hiding until he got there. Dylan knocked on the door frame and looked at her, “Five fucking seconds,” he said, letting out a breath as he instantly dropped the act he always put on around their grandparents, specifically their grandmother. “As soon as I walked through the damn door. It’d be so good of you to meet a nice girl, Cypress.” He mimicked, rolling his eyes as he threw himself in a dramatic fashion into the armchair by the fire. “Please Unforgivable me. If you love me, you will.”
