their interactions had been few and far between. the warlock wasn't of the mind to upset the sorceress. considering just how much more powerful she was.

✂ - point sternly at a chair and tell my muse to sit down / taron to gabriel!
Manhandling symbol starters.
gabriel is thoroughly amused by the stern orders being tossed his way. though, elegantly as ever, he does comply to such demands. taron's company is reminiscent of centuries past. younger. needier.
though the warlock is never one to string another along. he doesn't want to bog anyone down. though there have been a few instances he's been regretful. he's not about to go digging the past up. if that's where another prefers it to remain.
arm draped along the back of the chair, a heated memory blossoms. half-hooded gaze meets his.
‘ would a please kill you, mon amour? ’ a languid drawl of his native tongue.

It's late, and he's about ready to close up the bookstore -- business has been slow, and he hasn't sold anything at all. No matter, he doesn't need to sell anything to keep this place running. What is the point of a bookstore that never actually sells any books. Who cares -- the bell above the door chimes (it's irritating, he's been meaning to get rid of that thing for months, now), and he forces a smile.
"You're just in time -- I was just about to close up shop. How can I help?"
( he fell asleep early -- normally a good sign, indicating a decent night's sleep and an early start the following morning. but alas, nightmares. so he looks terrible, with lines in his face and bags under his eyes. there's a hot cup of tea warming his still-shaking hands. this is awful. )
Despite the rain, Gabriel finds himself standing outside the shop, watching people rush to find cover. He'd initially stepped outside to get some fresh air -- it's one of the few reasons he actually goes outside, these days, fresh air and grocery shopping are the only reasons he can think of to leave the shop, however briefly. The rain started some time ago, and has only grown heavier, leaving Gabriel to wonder how long it'll take for someone to try and take shelter within his shop.
There's a small quirk of an eyebrow, and then, "Fair enough."
He wonders if she's hurt -- it's a good assumption, but you never know. He worries, whether or not she wants him to. He'll do his best to avoid prying, but he does look for some kind of assurance she's alright. "You can sit down, if you'd like."
