Been busy the last few days but also free time got slurped up by the new game my friend got me so we could co-op.

Minecraft.

I had no idea it would be so much fun. It’s 90% soothing monotony of making an epic underground/tree house combo and 10% PURE PANIC because CREEPER INBOUND NO NO NO.

First time I invite my friend into my little server world I was so pleased with it. It was LITERALLY THE FIRST ONE I MADE. Not just the first save, but the first randomly generated world. FIRST ONE. And I was in a very nice area that was really hilly and heavily heavily forested with spruce and birch trees and I’m right by the ocean so con: lots of water zombies (aka the reason I made my house hidden underground) and pro: lovely view and lots of shipwrecks to explore later. So yeah, I’m thrilled with my very first world that I didn’t even have to scrap and generate again and I’ve maybe been lost in the hills and trees for a while so when my friend starts exploring the area around my house there’s this supreme moment where my friend goes: Hey are there any buildings in this map.

Me: *busy farming my tiny plot of farmland I painstakingly cleared of trees* no just us in the wilds.

My friend: What about that house over there.

Me: ...what house.

My friend from the highest point in the nearby map and the one (1) spot you can see over all the trees for miles: That one, right there, it’s HUGE.

Me: *climbs up to stand next to friend and stare off into the near distance.

The Supposedly Super Rare and Hard to Spawn Illager Mansion Less Than Half An In Game Day’s Walk From My Spawning Zone: *Exists*

Me: ????????!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend, who has one (1) wooden axe and only just learned how to craft: Cool let’s go raid the house.

Me: N O.

(We went anyway.

We got 2 hit ko’d by the first illager we bumped into

Since then we have gained armor and weapons and gone back to raid the illager house four times, only dying one other time but able to get our stuff back. We’ve mostly been running around stealing the carpet in the foyer so I can use it in my house and stealing the colored wool in the nearest room to our escape route so we can have pretty beds but hey. Progress.)

(I may or may not still be mad that I have an illeger mansion within walking distance of my spawning place but so far none have followed by home so it’s fine I guess.)
