The *ghosti of Our Own Druidry Reciprocity is an essential component to walking the path of Our Own Druidry.  This is familiar to many of us in the context of ritual: we give gifts to the Spirits that we may build a relationship with them, and receive their gifts in turn.

Just baked the first of the weekend’s bread for the dead (BFD, shall we call it?), to go with the usual coffee libation to the Ancestors. Whole wheat flour and baking powder, melted butter for the fat, apple juice as the liquid. Some dried cherries and golden raisins and a handful of pecans tossed in. Two small loaves, just out of the oven - one for Thursday night, during a cemetery tour by one of the local historical societies at a nearby university . Another for Friday after work, a solitary trip back to the same cemetery - at my alma mater, so I treat it as an ancestral cemetery.

More to bake later in the weekend - loaves for a possible trip to a civic cemetery Saturday afternoon, followed by a local ritual Saturday night, then for the altar at a community Día de los Muertos observance on Sunday afternoon, and the ritual our household is hosting Sunday night.

Smells like bread in here. Tasty. Now, to bed. Remember, self, to take one of the loaves with you tomorrow.

You are good enough for your gods.

This is your gentle reminder that the work you do for the gods, goddesses, spirits, and fair folk is good enough and valuable. The offerings you make are gifts appreciated. The prayers you give voice to are heard and loved. The spare change you donate at a park or sacred space adds up. The trash you grab out of the river or gutter in a rainstorm for later recycling improves the world. When you give of yourself, small things matter. When you gift unto others, no one cares what it cost, only that you cared enough to give. Let the cosmos be brightened by your work, as you already know it is.
