Reading all this lit for sexology makes me want to actually do a masters* degree focussing on queer perspectives of established research, because beyond some inclusion of gay and lesbian people in studies there is almost nothing. The lecturer did say in the one study that included bi people that we know bi people generally have higher rates of negative mental health junk than either gays/lesbians or straights, which is equally validating and depressing (just like personality psychology!), but other than that there is so much to explore. Reading about how gender and body image interacts rn and there's zero mention of trans/nb/agender people which is just baffling. Also largely disregards how it interacts with sexuality, at least in any deep or interesting way. Half these reviews are just like. There needs to be way more and better research on this and it hasn't happened yet.
