I didn't take it in a bad way at all!!! The first book definitely has a lot of world-building to set up (goodness. The world building is SO fantastic) and I think the second book falls along the same pacing-wise? I remember thinking 'I SHOULD be bored, but I'm not at all' and the last 100' pages of the sequel are really something 😉

okay good! i just wanted to clarify because i didn’t know if what i said came off in a way that seemed like i haven’t been enjoying the reading experience because i definitely have been. second / middle books of the series tend to be some of my favorites….so i’m really excited to get into the thick of it with this series :)
